Sight Scotland Veterans has continued with its commitment to provide funding of £250,000 over three years to Action Against AMD (AAAMD). AMD (age-related macular degeneration) is the most common cause of sight loss in high income countries. A significant number of the veterans who we support have lost their sight due to AMD. Sight Scotland Veterans co-founded AAAMD – a charity in its own right – in 2019 in partnership with three other leading sight loss charities. AAAMD is focused on finding and enabling convenient, affordable, and accessible solutions to stop AMD in its early stages, before it causes sight loss.
