Sports volunteering Sports volunteers contribute to the College’s recreational sport programme which includes drop-in sessions to leagues. The main role of volunteers is to get activity going and make sure everyone gets involved. There are 10 sports on offer with 1500 students regularly participating in programmes, all of which is delivered by around 50 student volunteers.

Coaching or Officiating

If you want to take your volunteering a little further there are opportunities to complete either coaching or officials qualifications in a variety of sports. On completion of your qualification we would expect you to return volunteering hours in that role, supporting the active lifestyle and sporting offer for both staff and students at the College. We have lots of new exciting opportunities this year in conjunction with Active Surrey and Runnymede Council.

Sports Ambassador

If being a coach or officiating is not for you, there are also opportunities to become a Sports Ambassador. These roles would support our busy events calendar which includes open days, presentation evenings to alumni sports day.

What are the benefits of becoming a sports volunteer? n

Free sports volunteer kit

n 10 hours = ÂŁ100 bursary towards an accredited qualification

n

Gain a qualification

n Developing important soft skills that employers seek

How do I sign up for a volunteering opportunity?

The easiest way is to complete our online form at www.royalholloway.ac.uk/sports
