ALPACA Alpaca is among vicuña, cashmere, mohair and other animal fibers, Alpaca is considered by the fashion world to be one of the most natural exclusive fibers. Alpaca contains no lanolin. This means it is hypoallergenic to most people. High-grade alpaca, such as “Baby Alpaca”, has a low prickle factor. Therefore, it does not feel itchy and most people can comfortably wear pure alpaca like a second skin. Alpaca has low absorption of environmental humidity. The structure of the alpaca fiber makes it behave as an insulator. Alpaca contains microscopic air pockets like human hair, which creates lightweight clothing with good insulating values. Therefore, depending on the external temperature, the air that is enclosed inside the hair can expand and contract. This variation in temperature makes the alpaca fiber the ideal for the human being. It maintains that needed balance in temperature. So you can wear either during the cold and spring seasons. Alpaca fiber is silky, soft, supple and smooth to the touch. It is prized for its unique silky feel and luxurious handle. Alpaca is as soft as cashmere and warmer and stronger than lambs’ wool.
