Lens op de Mens International Photo Festival Pelt Belgium.

4 June to 1 October 2023.

The Photo Festival is supported by the RPS Benelux Chapter

The Opening on 4 June was a tremendous success. The award winners in Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honourable Mentions in Professional and Amateur categories were announced, and the opening was well attended. The organisers of the photo festival had live music playing and everyone was welcomed into the large theatre at CC Palethe, in the Zinnezaal.

The awards were all presented and those in attendance could go up on stage to receive a large print of their photo and a certificate. Afterwards some drinks were available, and people could mingle and talk and listen to more music being played.

Martin Parr HonFRPS has photos on the walls inside the Foyer of CC Palethe for you to admire. He will be giving a Lecture on his photography on Saturday 23rd September, pre- booking tickets is available through the site.

The Benelux Chapter has it’s Spring Challenge, with photos on the theme, “Daily Life of Us” hanging on the wall of the old cemetery, right next to CC Palethe, at POI 31. It is our Members Print Exposition, and we have 23 photos there.

Over 1,000 photos can be seen on the streets of Pelt on an easily accessible route of nearly 3km. You’ll see photos in the Church, on walls, on special posts, in the Vakschool (Old TIO site) and of course, inside CC Palethe.

This is the fourth time the photo festival is being held, once every two years.

The workshop is open for everyone, you can register and make your payment in advance. See info in the programme or at the Benelux Chapter pages at www.rps.org under International at the About section.

The RPS Benelux Chapter has around 40 members from Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Denmark and Sweden. Also, people from the UK attend our Zoom meetings held every two months, the alternate months we have a physical meet up in Rotterdam. Everyone is welcome!
