EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPY CENTER IN NORMAN, OKLAHOMA 2ND YEAR STUDIO FALL SEMESTER

BY USING EXTRUDED BARRIER WALLS, DIFFERENT SPACES ARE FORMED IN A LINEAR FLOW. THE LINEARITY OF THE SCHEMATIC DESIGN LEADS THE EYE OF THE PUBLIC TO THE SITES MAIN PURPOSE: EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPY. THE LARGE RIDING AREA IS SET UP TO ALLOW THE NATURAL AIR TO FLOW THROUGH WITH THE ABILITY FOR THE RIDER TO GAZE UPON THE LAKE VIEWS EITHER IN A SHADED OR OPEN AREA. WHILE THERE IS A CLEAR SEPARATION BETWEEN THE HUMAN ASPECT AND THE HORSES, THEY ARE BRIDGED TOGETHER BY THE OPEN COURTYARD THAT HAS ANOTHER VIEW OF THE LAKE WITH OPEN SEATING. THE DESIGN ALLOWS EASY ACCESS TO EVERY POINT ON THE SITE DUE TO THE MULTIPLE ACCESS PATHS THAT FOLLOW THE LINEAR SITE PLAN.
