a note from your LTG

Hey 3W! Summer is coming up! It may be summer and I know it's our time to take a well-deserved break from school, school, and school, BUT we can't break from Key Club. I hope your clubs will stay active with some of the ideas on page 9. Also please invite me to your socials and events, I would LOVE to attend. There will also be DCMs throughout the break so come to those, too. Otherwise, I hope y'all are happy to be out of school and are enjoying some sun and sleep. Yours in Service, Rosie Park

YOF

g r a n t ?

The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund of the Kiwanis Children’s Fund which provides grants to Key Club and Key Club members for scholarships and service opportunities. YOF grants can help you take action. Look around and identify service that needs to be done in your school, community or the world. Then apply for a grant.

More Info YOF grants are only given to Key Clubs and/or individual club members. Grants are not given to divisions or districts. Grant amounts between US$100 to US$2,000 may be requested. Applications are reviewed by the Key Club board at the November meeting. Grant applicants are emailed of outcomes the first week of January. A list of grant recipients is posted online the third week of January.

If you're interested.. Applications must be submitted online by October 15 at 11:59 PM, EST. The club’s 2018-2019 dues must be paid before YOF grant checks can be issued. A YOF Final Grant Report is due at the end of the grant cycle (January 1) Email our district treasurer (treasurer@tokeyclub.com) or your LTG for more info

TO COMBAT 11

Take a look at Key Club's Major Emphasis Project that are helping to make a difference in communities across the world.

Preferred Charities

Members work together by sponsoring fundraising events and conducting service projects at their local children's hospitals. Contact your local CMN hospital and invite a representative to a club meeting to share ideas and create a partnership.

Since the 1940s, Key Clubs have worked with March of Dimes to make a positive impact in the lives of babies everywhere. Today, Kiwanis members continue that culture of service by supporting the March of Dimes all year long by hosting service projects, raising funds and educating communities about the crisis of preterm birth

UNICEF helps to provide for children’s needs in more than 150 developing countries through community-based services in primary health care, basic education and safe water and sanitation.
