Financial Assistance

Philosophy & Policy

All financial assistance awards are based upon each family’s demonstrated financial need. These awards cover a broad range of need which enhance the socio-economic diversity of our student body.

Riverside Presbyterian Day School admits students of any race, creed, color, sex, or national origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The distribution of awards will adhere to NAIS principles of Good Practice for Financial Aid with special attention to fairness, equity and confidentiality.

• Continued eligibility for financial assistance is based primarily on a family’s ongoing demonstrated need for funds. Families must re-apply for financial assistance each year.

• If a student receives a grant from an outside funding source, Step Up for example, these additional funds will be considered part of the student’s financial assistance award and should be disclosed to RPDS as soon as possible.

• All information received by the Financial Assistance Committee is held in the strictest of confidence. When financial assistance information is disclosed, those receiving the information are reminded to safeguard the confidentiality of the information.

• No financial assistance award can be made for an upcoming school year until a family’s current school year balance has been paid.

• In most cases, the Financial Assistance Committee will make an award only after considering the financial resources of both parents, but we do look at each situation on a case-by-case basis, and we make every effort to be sensitive to particular family circumstances when finalizing an award.
