My name. I was named after my grandmother who’s great grandmother was called ‘Rossie”,it is a french name and it means “the rose” .I can affirm that I feel marvelous for having her name, for me it’s a huge honor. But sometimes I don’t like the way people pronounce or say my name.I can also affirm than I would rather have another name, because I don’t really like mine, but every time that I look back at my roots, I remember where my name comes from and realize that I have to carry this name with respect and honor, even if its not the name that I think that fits me better, but I think somehow, there is a way to find out what our names tells about who we are, not just for our roots.

The greatest advice One day, while I was having a grateful chat with my great grandmother...we were talking about people, who passed away already, like my great grandfather. And I was talking about people who’s not dead yet, but somehow, they are missing in my life and those were her words: “my dear, in this life everyone is necessary but nobody is essential for living, I hope you always remember that”, that made me understand that, in order to survive, we don’t need a person to make us do so. People enter to our lives, and when they leave, we suffer and we often hear or say that we cant live without them. Just because we refuse to remember our lives before they enter to ours, we make it out with or without them, even though it hurts, a lot.

Someone special If I had to choose the most special person in my family and in my life, it would definitely be my mom, she’s my example, she always supports me and I support her, is someone that day to day shows me that I can lean on her whenever I have a problem, day to day she teaches me a new lesson about common problems in my life. She is the best in the world, I have a really big appreciation for her, and I would possibly be lost without her, even though we have huge differences or similarities that can either split us or unite us. I can honestly say that when she’s mad at me or I’m mad at her, I can come into a really bad mood, because I feel like I have a strong connection with my mother, she’s my world.

The happiest days They were two times that really had a positive impact in my life. The first one was in October, 2009. I remember that my 15th birthday party was nearby, we were all so excited, so happy. One week before my party we went all to Cuernavaca to celebrate Michelle’s birthday, we had a blast, tons of fun, laughter and sharing memories, one week after my party, was so amazing, dancing till sunrise, all my friends and I were so happy, weeks later I had lots of fun too. We were all so united, I experienced lot of feelings, knew many people and, of course, I noticed many things and that fulfilled me , till December when I had a life changing experience, which I’ll never regret because it taught me a lot of things about life and love, I think about that day, all the time. The second time was last year, when I entered finally to 9th grade, I had the best classmates, everyday of school was a day of laughter, of new experiences, new friends, it was a school year full of partnership, we all supported each other, living those days, was so special to me because it taught me a lot of things, and value some others. We laughed all day long, on weekends we hanged out together, they were ups and downs (Must Ups), but I was really satisfied with my life and I couldn’t ask for more, in both times.

A special birthday My best birthday was last year’s, that day I was kind of mad, because I got suspended from school so I thought I wouldn’t see my friends that day, and I didn’t know how to react.Even that I didn’t imagined it ,I had a really nice time, having all my friends and my family by my side celebrating, I decided to do a reunion at my place in the afternoon, so all my friends meet me there and hang out on my birthday. All my friends came by, it was awesome, we chatted, we really enjoyed the moment, we are all laughing and telling good stories. I was so satisfied to see that everyone was next to me, and showing me that they care, and that they have an impact in my life.

A time i saw someone got in trouble In our generation trip, my friends wanted to go out for a weekend but the teachers won’t let them, so they decided to escape. just when they were about to get out of the hotel, a teacher saw them and we all knew that they were going to have a big trouble, I was really sad and confused because they were 13 guys that i really appreciated, and we didn’t know what the consequence was going to be and probably it would be to separate them from the group, so I was very worried, but i had faith and I supposed that the punishment wouldn’t be so rough. when we got back to the hotel they told us that the punishment wasn’t so harsh and that they would not separate from the group, I honestly felt so relieved, by knowing that they were going to be in the trip until the end.

A Positive Story From my Experiences at School When I entered to 10th grade, they gave us options of workshops for the afternoon, that’s when I decided to enter to Model UN workshop, at the beginning we assisted to many models to debate, and after that a trip came up, we had the chance to go to New York and Ithaca to a model UN. It was a trip that fill me with a lot of culture and information, it opened me many doors and it opened my mind to the world. I learned that I always have to respect what other people think or say. I also had the chance to be with my friends and go shopping with them, we were laughing all the time, collecting new memories and experiences, what I liked the most is that we had a lot of free time to do what we wanted, also i had the chance to make new friends and get to know them, they were from different parts of the world. A Negative Story From My Experiences at School In school, we all try to get along not just with our generation, but with the older and the younger students. I have great friends. Last year, I was sick and I didn’t go to school for a week. While I was sick I received a call from one of my best friends that was in 8th grade (I was in 9th), he told me that something had happened that he was already suspended for a week and that principals were deciding if he was going to be expelled for good. After he informed me everything that was happening i felt really sad, and worried. Because i knew that school did not tolerate what he did, and he might got expelled. I tried my best while advising him, and I told him to calm down, and have faith. Neither of my advices worked, the next day he went to a meeting with his parents and the principal for the final decision, so i’ve been told, he wasn’t able to enter that meeting. When school ended he came to me and told me he was expelled, forever. I started crying I was so sad , disappointed, and frustrated because I knew that nothing that I could do, will help him to get back.

A Birth An important birth in my life, was my sister’s, the younger one. It attacked me by surprise because I was 13 years old already, I never imagined that I would have another sister, we were 3 girls already. When my mom gave me the news I was really surprised, I couldn’t believe that I was going to have another sister, I was really happy at the same time because I love babies, and I promised that when she was born I would take care of her and be a good sister. Finally when she was born I was so excited, I really took care of her, she made a huge change at home, it was like a 360 spin , my 3rd sister was really sad because she wasn’t the attention anymore, and it was hard at the beginning because we weren’t that small, like to have a new baby at home, I can say that it was a good change in my life, because i love my sister.

A Time I Got Into Trouble A year ago, my parents decided to spend the winter break in a cruise. Many of my older friends went to the cruise too. I was the younger one, so everyone was allowed to be in the casino or club, but me. I always found a way to get into the club or to be in the casino, and the guards wouldn’t know I was a minor. One day they decided to change the club, to a party; this party was at the pool where only adults were able to be in. Since the beginning I knew that it was going to be hard to enter to this party, so I asked my mother for her card and I tried to enter to the party, but obviously they realized that it wasn’t my card, so I got into a big trouble because they already knew it wasn’t my card and I kept lying so I could enter, but I was so stupid because I had a necklace that said Rossie, and my mom’s name is Sara, so they took me to the front desk and looked out for my parents to tell them what I did, and told me that I wasn’t allowed to be outside my room without a parent supervision after 12:00.

Games or Favorite Toys from your Childhood
When I was a little girl, I was always playing with Barbies, polly pockets or Minnie Mouse dolls, I was always keeping up with the last trend of barbies, I went once a week to the toy store to buy a new barbie, I loved them, I took care of them like if they were my daughters or someting. In my free time I played with my barbies, i dressed them up differently, and I used many of them. I also had a huge collection of Minnie Mouse dolls. It often happened that when I went to Disneyland, and I bought a Minnie Mouse doll, I lost it so I always entered discretely to the disney store to stole another one to replace the one I had. I often invited my other girlfriends to play with barbies.

A Special Holiday The best holiday I had was on 8th grade, in Purim, the day when we all come with a different costume. That day I had so much fun, I came dressed as a NFL player with Stella, and I remember we were all at the community center watching the students from high school cars, and how they were decorated, their costumes were awesome, we took a lot of pictures and then we left school early so we all hanged out at the mall, we went to have breakfast and then we went to see a movie.

My neighborhood Nowadays I live in a neighborhood that has 6 beautiful houses. I have a neighbor that is just one year older than me, so we are very good friends. That’s why I love my neighborhood, I always have a friend there, I can hang out. What I also love is that I live in a very peaceful street, there’s no traffic, and there’s a lot of nature, like trees (Jacarandas), in the street and in my neighborhood, I also have a huge garden when I can relax, read a book, listen to my music. Whenever I need to take a decision, to relax, to talk to someone, I go to my garden because I found there a place where I can calm down.

Going to Work The first time I went to work was on my San Miguel field trip. We had the chance to make social service in a rural community. We made concrete blocks to help build kitchens or even houses. It consisted in mixing mud with concrete and water till it got rough so then they can made blocks and then build whatever they wanted to build. This experience was great because we went to the whole process and helped at the same time, that showed us to value more things, because we saw people that didn’t even have a roof to live in. It felt really good to know that the work we were doing was to help people.

Being Jewish and living in Mexico. By being a Jewish girl and live in Mexico city, I can say that I feel really happy, because this is my home, and my country, although as a Jewish I already have a country to live in; Israel. Mexico have received us, really well, we have a lot of things here, we know everybody, we have our synagogues, and a very big community. It feels good to call this place home, because I don’t think that other jewish people in the world have the life that we as jewish-mexicans have. I’ve built my whole life in here, I love the way i hang out, spend my days, the charisma of the mexicans, etc. I am really thankful with this place, because somehow, some way...it was destined for me to be here.
