We are the Lost Secrets Indie Role Play. We are a new indie group surfacing on Facebook, and we are excited to be here. In this new story, love rules, but secrets surface, breaking apart old friends and lovers. We are an excited group of writers, dedicated to fun role play and happy fans. We are looking for some of our family to come home though! We are looking for any indie character who wants a family, or even Dark Hunter characters with no home. We are not concerned on canon, the only thing we are concerned over is that the character still holds he/she's personality. Other than that, your imagination can run wild! If it is something you are interested in, or just have a few questions over the group, please contact Allie Caminali on her page. https://www.facebook.com/allie.caminali

By Keeta Betony I hear different stories about couples or even friends roleplaying together. You hear the ups and downs, the do's and the don't's of people who have gone through this. As per an advice column, I am going to give you some advice on how to make relationships in the roleplaying world work. Trust. Trust is a key factor in this whole situation. If you don't have trust, stop what you are doing before you ruin your relationship. If you can't trust your writing partner everything will fall apart quicker than you can blink. You have to trust the person you're with in real life right? Same goes for your writing partner. This world you are creating needs to be based on trust and boundaries. These boundaries are set up during your character creation process. Without these two key aspects of relationships in the roleplaying world, your writing relationship and your real life relationship will fall through and no one wants that. The upside of roleplaying with your partner is knowing them personally. You know they aren't some weirdo out for cyber sex or some crazy stalker. I know many have dealt with the application process of finding a

good writing partner and it's completely exhausting. If you already know the person and you flow well with them, make it work. Again, trust is very important. For those of you who are wondering, How do I find someone like that if I don't know them personally? It's extremely easy. No, don't laugh, I'm telling the truth. It takes time and effort, my dear friends. Flow and Mesh, use those when looking for a partner. If you flow well together when writing, perfect, but if you don't mesh well then don't even go down that road. If you mesh well but don't flow well together, again, don't go down that road. Once you find your partner and create your perfect world together, who knows what will happen. Good luck to you all.

Bullying :: How to handle it when you feel your being bullied. By Allie Caminali  OVERVIEW At least one point in time, everyone has been bullied. It is unwanted, hurtful, shameful, and it is an act that can cause people to become depressed or suicidal. The actual definition of bulling is “unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.” Now, most of online do not have to worry about the physical action of bullying, but there are times when we go through it. And even though most of the role play characters spamming Facebook are adults, most of us reading this can agree that the bullies that are walking among us are no more than school aged children. As a victim of bullying, I could read that statement and fully agree. But throughout this article, I will explain the signs of bullying, the differences between types of bullying, ways to prevent it, and how to protect yourself from bullying.  DIFFERENT TYPES OF BULLYING There are a few different types of bullying to watch out for, and each one affects the person that is being bullied. One of the most common types of bullying, which we will focus the most on, is cyber bullying. Cyberbullying is defined as “bullying that takes place using electronic technology. Electronic technology includes devices and equipment such as cell phones,

computers, and tablets as well as communication tools including social media sites, text messages, chat, and websites.â€? Some people use the role play accounts that they create as a disguise to hide behind as they harass others behind the safety of a computer screen. Most have no regard and will keep messaging you no matter how many times you tell them to stop. Examples of cyberbullying include mean text messages or emails, rumors sent by email or posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles. ď śSOME EFFECTS OF CYBERBULLYING Different people handle stress and problems in a different way. Some people go into hiding, or become depressed. Once a person becomes depressed, they quit doing things they love to do, such as writing or role playing. Some people become so depressed that they go as far as killing themselves. No matter what the effect bullying takes on the person being bullied, it is never a positive one. The person doing the bullying is taking away the others happiness,

willingness to communicate to others, and a lot of the time, they are taking away the other person’s willingness to do things they once loved to do. WAYS TO PREVENT AND PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CYBERBULLYING Depending on where the cyberbullying is taking place, there are a few ways to prevent yourself from going through cyberbullying. The moment the first picture is posted, or the first message is sent, if you are on Facebook, go to the person’s page and report and block them immediately. Hover our mouse over the “Friends” button at the top, and a drop down box will appear. In that drop box, you will see a button that reads “Report/Block”. If you are getting bullied through text messages or email, please contact your service provider to block the number, or contact the email service you use in order to figure out how to block people. TO SUM IT UP Remember, if you are suffering from bullying or cyber bullying, talk to someone about it. Go to a trusted friend and let them know what is going on. And once you do that, please block the person from being able to contact you. Do not let them steal your happiness and things you love to do. Do not let the bullies take what power you have and make you feel like nothing. Just remember… No person is worth your happiness and no person is worth you quitting something you love to do. So write on fellow role players and keep yourself protected.

For this month’s spotlight, I sat down with the founders and admins of Sentella Divinity; Maris, Darling, and Dancer. This is a new small group just starting out. They are up and coming group with some great players. They are based on Sherrilyn Kenyon’s League series. It’s a series about a futuristic world where the government is run by an evil group known as the League. The Sentella are those who are brave enough to stand against the League. So let’s get to the questions. What made you decide to start this group? Maris :: Well, I wasn't one of the original founders of this group, but I was one of the first players to come into the group. Ironically it turned out that a few of my close friends were the ones who ran it. I have always loved the League books, and I love the fact that the Author Goddess had made a gay couple. It made something I could connect to. I believe that is why I was drawn to the League, and why I am positive to make this the best group we can have. Darling :: I thought about making a League group long and hard. I never seen a first generation one out there, and I always had a deep love for Darling. I have ran groups before, and thought I would allow a place for people who wanted to play in a League group. Dancer :: Darling had contacted me shortly after I had become slightly obsessed with the League books, saying he wanted to do one. At first I was kind of skeptical because I hadn't seen a League group, but as we started I wouldn't have asked foranything else.

Why Role play? Maris :: Role play honestly helps me get through the day most of the time. It allows me the chance to write, and talk to people I never thought I could. The opportunity to express yourself in ways that fellow role players understand. Darling :: Role play is an escape. A way to push your real life problems to the side for just a moment, even if it's only a moment, and be someone else. In it, you can be whoever you want to, and be able to release your creativity. Dancer :: I have role played for the past 10 years. It started off as something I did in school to pass the time, which then lead to online upon graduation. It allows me to be creative and get my work out, which would be sitting in a notebook collecting dust if I wasn't here. I like being able to write stories and bounce ideas off of others. Not to mention, it's good to break away from real life every once in a while. (Okay, more like a daily thing, but who is really judging that?) Tell us some of the exciting things you see coming for your group? Maris :: Some of the things I see in the future for us here at Sentella Divinity is great story lines, events and possibly the idea of trivia with some sort of prize involving some of our wonderful players. I also see us becoming a very successful group with fun loving drivers who enjoy what they do. Darling :: I see big things from my group. Me and my other admins are in the process of discussing story lines that we can run, and are promoting like hell to get more players in. Once

 we can manage getting through the "new group" stage, we are capable of doing anything. Skies the limit for us, and we aren't going to hold back either. We are going to run some of the craziest story lines you have ever read, and put the League character in positions where we never thought we could, all while staying in the character that Sherrilyn Kenyon created.  Dancer :: For our group, I see us becoming a successful family full of people who share the same love for the series as well as with writing. I see us being able to come out with amazing story lines.

What do you think is the future for inter-group relations?  Maris :: I believe our future is bright in that aspect. So far we have had great interactions between our family members, and I firmly believe that we will continue to grow and be closer as a family.  Darling :: Well, as of yet, we our intra-group relations are wonderful. And we are a very happy bunch, and we goof off a lot. We all get a long, and we all like to do what we can to make each other laugh on the worst sort of day. These people have been my world. They have helped me through the bad times, and the worst. And I have no doubt, that with the group that we have, they will continue to do the same.  Dancer :: So far everything has been awesome. We get along well, and we bounce ideas off of one another. We

ď ś are all willing to defend one another, which is great. We have a stellar group who are totally accepting of new people and who help one another. I see this continuing and strengthening as we grow.

So that is our group spotlight make sure you check them out. I’m sure they’ll be happy to have the fans.

We are the Sentella Divinity. A group of hard working writers that are trying to rise up in the role play world to write in one of Sherrilyn Kenyons most exhilarating book series yet. As a cannon group for her League series, we are dedicated to portraying the characters to their fullest potential, and delivering storylines that move the fans, and express the characters in a never before seen way. Dedicated to the first generation characters, we are striving for greatness and to introduce the second generation in their cutest stages of their life. Please feel free to join us, either as a fan or a player, and experience The League like you never seen it before. Fan Page :: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SentellaDivinity/

 INTRODUCTION When you role play, there are always different things you can use, and different tactics that you can use to make your post’s seem more realistic and a lot longer. It is harder to role play with a person when you only get one lined responses back, and it loses the creativity of the character themselves. So today, I am going to help you build a long post, so the next time you role play with your partner, you can wow then with your new set of information.  PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL There is not much more to it than that. Detail is key in any form of writing. You want to make your reader not only feel what your character is feeling, but if you are describing it raining outside, make the reader or your role play partner be able to close their eye’s and feel the rain on their skin! A good example of this can be something like this: The sand sank below her feel, sucking her in like quick sand as she moved along the beach. The wind kissed her honey

blonde hair, rolling it across her head like a violent storm. She looked across the blue water, mesmerized by the clarity of the color, reminding her of a perfect clear day. So in there, I used a lot of “extra” words to describe the scenery. It’s a lot better than trying to put: The sand felt warm. It was a windy day though. Her hair flapped in the wind as it blew. The water looked very blue when she looked at it. You can not only see the difference in the flow, but the length of the paragraph as well. Using detail will give you a desired length, and a happy reader. INTERACTION Read the whole post and respond to the whole thing. Don’t just read the last line and respond to only that. If the character you are role playing with asks 5 questions, answer all 5 questions. That will help lengthen your posts as well. It makes it look like you care, and if you give the effort that they give you, you can learn to feed from

the other and help make your posts great. USE VARIETY AND CORRECT PUNCTUATION This is a big thing I see here on Facebook. People, and I know this is just an opinion, like to use **. This makes the posts more difficult to read. Try using periods, quotations, comas, apostrophes, ectra. We have all read a book. It helps you begin to write like an author and helps keep the flow a lot easier than trying to figure out if what you just typed was something though or spoken. As for variety. How many of you have read other people’s post, and seen the words “she/he said” about 6 times in a singular post? I know I see it a lot. Keep a thesaurus near, or online, and look up words to find different words that mean the same thing. Like sadness, you can use words such as depressed, distraught, down… Or for anger, you can use words such as furious, enraged, pissed, irritated, seeing red… There are normally a lot of other ways you can describe the way your character feels, what they see, or how they want to respond. PUT IT ALL TOGETHER Not it’s time to take everything you have read here and put it to use. Practice makes perfect, and you will only get better at something if you keep doing it. Put together your posts using detail, correct punctuation, detail, variety of words, detail, interaction, and did I say detail? Now it’s your turn to “wow” your audience!

 OVERVIEW As role players on Facebook, or even if we are not using Facebook, we hear different terms from the people we meet, and groups that we are in. Two of the most common terms we hear, especially in groups, are the terms S.L and C.D. But how many of us role players know the difference between the two? As a fan of watching other groups and Indies role playing, and as an admin to a group myself, I read all the time people using the wrong terms for each. So today I am going to talk the time to define each term, and explain it in detail the difference to better help you and your group better plan out each event, S.L, and C.D.  WHAT IS A C.D? A C.D is defined as Character Development. It is a small story, post, or role play written to dig further into a small group of characters. This is not meant for a large scale group of people. This type of story is meant to expand on a characters personality, past, or problem that they may be having. A good example is: He moved slowly through the shadows, waiting for the monsters in his dreams to jump out at any moment. He was once such a happy person, and then it happened… The love of his life had cursed him to live the nightmare of a life that he currently was suffering through. In the post, it went back to describe how he had gotten to the shadowed existence that the character lived in. There was no need to have more than one character to post with since he was describing his situation. The maximum amount of people who should be in a C.D are 1-3 people. A hero, heroine, and a

 SO THEN WHAT IS A S.L? A S.L is a lot bigger of a scale than a C.D. A S.L is defined as a Story Line. A S.L is meant for 4+ characters, and does not have a limit to a maximum number. But you do need at least 4. Why can’t a SL still be a C.D though if there is only one more player involved? Because the 4th is a minor character to the story. You have the good guy, bad guy, and the girl, with the girl’s best friend. It’s no longer expanding a love story and adding drama. You have yet another character that has the opportunity to be expanded on. I have learned while writing and reading myself that a S.L is more like a book. It’s the 2 main characters, the bad guys, and all their

friends there to help them get through the issue at hand. A S.L is more in depth and normally carries a lot more detail and talks a lot more time to write out. ď śTO CONCLUDE So while there is not a big difference between the two story styles, there is still a difference. One involves a lot of characters, while the other is a small expansion on no more than 2 characters with a bad guy to cause trouble. Try to use a little of both when writing in your groups, or just singularly. It is always a plus to use both styles to deepen your character, and your characters bonds with other characters.

Okay so this month I had a chance to sit down with one of our favorite Indy characters Trehan Graison and was able to have a chat and ask him some questions. I had fun learning more about him and I hope you do as well. Me: Who is Trehan? Trehan: Trehan is king in the Realm of the Forgotten. He was born to rule and his father beat that into him from a young age. He is what is known as a vemon, a mix between a vampire and a rage demon. He had just recently taken over the kingdom and was trying to clean up the mess his father made when an accident blinded him and his new mate has vanished. Even I'm hoping that this will end in a good way. But you'd have to read to see. Me: Why this type of character? Trehan: I wanted him to be someone a little different. A bit more human even though he isn't. He has flaws and will make mistakes but in the end his heart is in the right place. Isn't that what matters? Me: For you as a writer was it hard to come up with the basics for this character compared to using one from a Sherrilyn Kenyon book? Trehan: In some ways it's harder and in others it's easier. With the books you already have some idea ofe personality and past. For Trehan, I had to come up with the idea nad figure out who I wanted him to be. Then there is the History for him. I'm just

lucky to have a good partner who has been helping me work outsome of the future details. Me: What would you like people to know about your character? Trehan:MY character was a creation of my own. While he has many flaws deep down he is a good guy who just wants to be understood and have his place in the world. Me: What do you see in the future for Trehan and would you like to see for him? Trehan: He lives in a mideival world and isn't exactly happy about it. There is slavery and all kinds of problems in his kingdom. It seems like everytime he tries to change it for the better something happens to set him back. I'd like to see him achieve some of his goals and maybe even get his mate back. Guess we have to see if that will happen for him. Me: What would you like to see in the future of rp itself and do you have any ideas to help acheive them? Trehan: I'd like to see people become a bit more open and work together more. THat includes groups. People always seem so busy stressing what other could do instead of trying to work together so that all of us can have some fun. Me: Do you have any advice for up and coming rp'ers who are just starting out?

Trehan: Don't be afraid to approach people and put yourself out there. It can sometimes serve to open up doors and bring you friends that you never imagined you'd have. Me: Is there anything else you would like to say to people who are reading this? Trehan: Never forget to have fun. You are more than just the character you portray. Be open to making more friends. Feel free to visit me in my realm and bring a jug of ale. We'll roll out the welcome mat for you. Well there you go everybody one of our favorite Indy characters and I was the one lucky enought to interview him.
