Construction of the shelter is based on the inherent stability and flexibility of the triangle. The triangles can be folded and joined to create a structure that responds to the situation at hand. Able to be contained within a purpose-built, oversized ‘backpack’ and made from lightweight material, the shelter can be transported easily by an individual based on their needs. It can provide immediate protection from the elements and, when transported to an emergency evacuation centre, can provide privacy and a sense of territory. The shelters can be grouped together with neighbours, family and friends to create a sense of mutual comfort and community.
