Significant twice-signed document regarding “merchandising licenses for fanciful characters granted by Walt Disney Productions”
558. Walt Disney Twice-Signed Document. DS, signed twice, “Walt Disney,” four pages, 8.5 x 11, March 25, 1953. Minutes of a special meeting of the board of directors of Walt Disney Incorporated, regarding a licensing agreement with Walt Disney Productions “to use his (Walter E. Disney’s) name in connection with the merchandising licenses for fanciful characters granted by Walt Disney Productions to third parties.” For that license, Walt Disney Productions is to pay royalties of $50,000 per year for a period of ten years. For his part, Walt Disney would receive $150,000 worth of stock in Walt Disney Incorporated. The first section is signed by Walt Disney and William Hyland, and the second section, waiving notice of the special meeting, is signed by board members Walt Disney, Lloyd Wright, William H. D. Cottrell, Nathan Winecoff, and William Hyland. In fine condition. Starting Bid $300

Four days later, on June 20th, Disney would release two classic Mickey Mouse shorts: ‘Mickey’s Rival,’ which marked the debut of Mortimer Mouse as Mickey’s adversary; and ‘Moving Day,’ which starred Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Schulz sketches Snoopy for the singer of ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head’
560. Charles Schulz Signed Sketch in Book. Signed book: Peanuts Jubilee. First edition. NY: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1975. Hardcover with dust jacket, 15.5 x 11.5, 222 pages. Prominently signed and inscribed on the half-title page in black felt tip to hit singer B. J. Thomas, “For B. J. with every best wish—Charles M. Schulz,” with the addition of a huge fullbodied sketch of Snoopy. In fine condition, with light scuffing and wear to the covers. Accompanied by a generic certificate of authenticity signed by Thomas’s widow, Gloria Thomas, certifying it as being from their estate. Thomas is remembered for his popular songs “Hooked on a Feeling” and “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head.” A great Snoopy sketch by Schulz with a unique association. Starting Bid $200
