COMMUNITY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTRE SEM 6 - 2021 INDIVIDUAL MENTOR - AR. PRERNA DAMANI
The design program this semester is a community police station complex consisting of police station, small courts and community facilities. The design will be focused around integration of all the three. Community law enforcement centres are a place where the gap between community and police officers is reduced. This project deals with redesign of a police station typology where people don’t feel afraid of visiting a police station. Understanding how police officers work and what different kinds of departments are there to run a police station is essential. The main objective for this project was to break away the conventional way of designing a police station, reimagining the idea of surveillance and security in the city, Spatial segregation as per public, semi-public and confinement areas in terms of accessibility and spatial hierarchy.

YOU & YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD COMPETITION 2020
TEAM OF 2
The main objective behind “Revamp Ramp” is to make space for people to come together for public meetings, social and political gatherings that often become urban spaces to interact , share opinions , play and interact with each other. Analysing and rethinking the circulation pattern of the street in a manner that improves safety and security while examining the density of the street that is able to accommodate a large community to breath in a limited amount of space. The design approach begins with Studying the movement pattern of pedestrians across the street and unlocking possibilities of creating new open spaces in a compact arrangement of our indian streets.
“You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.” -Rahm Emanuel
ANDC- NASA (Shortlisted in Top 100) 2020 TEAM HEAD MENTOR- AR. Divya Subramanium
The brief of the design competition was to design a bus terminal envisioning the post pandemic reality of mobility spaces. The objective of the brief was to identify, analyze and compare the designs in a world of pre and post pandemic and to identify and analyze all the issues faced by the various stakeholders, by developing a safer and healthier environment. There were 3 different situations: rural area, destination bus terminus and urban area and we had to design for any one scenario.
