Non-Sabbatical Felix Editor Elected In the election for the N o n - S a b b a t i c a l Felix Editor A n d y B u t c h e r w a s r e t u r n e d the w i n n e r against N e w E l e c t i o n . W h e n asked h o w it felt he said that it 'Hasn't sunk in yet' a n d he w o u l d get used to the idea in time. The election was c a l l e d after n o b o d y stood for the post of S a b b a t i c a l E d i t o r at the beginning of the t e r m . T h a t e l e c t i o n was run due to the failure of the e l e c t e d candidate in last years v o t e for a l l the sabbatical posts. Despite the p o l l b e i n g r u n i n conjunction w i t h the U n i o n ' s r e f e r e n d u m on the College D a y there w a s a p o o r t u r n out all round. O u t of the 517 w h o v o t e d on the College D a y o n l y 450 v o t e d in the election. A n d y B u t c h e r g a i n e d 300 v o t e s with New E l e c t i o n t a k i n g 78 votes. T h e r e were also 72 spoilt p a p e r s. The result means that f r o m n e x t t e r m

College Day: Referendum Result
Students rejected the p r o p o s e d c h a n g e to the C o l l e g e D a y in y e s t e r d a y ' s r e f e r e n d u m . O u t of the 517 w h o v o t e d , i n the Student's U n i o n poll o n M o n d a y a n d T u e s d a y this w e e k , 457 said that t h e y w e r e against c h a n g e s a n d o n l y 59 a g r e e d w i t h the p r o p o s a l . T h e r e w a s o n e spoilt paper. It has b e e n p r o p o s e d b y a W o r k i n g P a r t y , c h a i r e d b y Professor A l a n S w a n s o n , that the C o l l e g e D a y be e x t e n d e d f r o m 9 . 0 0 a m to 6 . 0 0 p m . T h i s is to c o p e w i t h t i m e t a b l i n g p r o b l e m s , p a r t i c u l a r l y i n the final y e a r s . V a r i o u s questions h a v e a r i s e n f r o m the p r o p o s a l , p a r t i c u l a r l y t hose of i n c r e a s e d cost to the C o l l e g e .
