WHILE YOU WERE AWAY
On March 13, 2020 when it became clear that we would need to close our doors, we figured there’d be a few canceled performances and that we’d soon be back in business. As weeks turned into months, we adjusted the best we could to our new reality. One of our slogans over the years has been “Our Curtain’s Always Up!” We were not accustomed to being closed for more than a few days at a time. As we worked to stay motivated, creative and productive, downtime was used to reorganize and regroup. The costume shop and production team reimagined our spaces to work more efficiently and cleared the way for renovations to come.

Kim and Kristina did lots of extra cleaning and disinfecting with the help of Medrep Technologies and Jantize America. Our costume shop volunteers sewed masks from home. Our Education & Outreach Department quickly pivoted to teaching virtual classes. Story time with Kelly and Terrance became a YouTube hit. We all learned how to zoom!
