welcome Darwen Live 2016 will be the biggest event we have ever hosted, more acts, more venues and hopefully more people visiting our town than ever before. Not only do we have a large number of acts performing for you, but also a depth of quality, genres and styles that could make us the envy of many other music festivals. Darwen Live is funded primarily by Darwen Town Council and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, which allows us to make this a completely free to attend event, one of the largest in the North of England! The festival is organised by volunteers and we do our utmost to get the best value for the event. In a time of cutbacks, austerity, and ever changing Council members we are incredibly grateful to Darwen Town Council and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council for their continued support and commitment to Darwen Live. It is estimated that across the weekend over 30,000 people come into the town. This can only be good for Darwen businesses and for the town itself. Last year there were no arrests during the festival which once again shows what a great time people are having – Let’s have another year like this. If you would like to make Darwen Live even better, be involved with the organising, promotion, fundraising or to apply to perform at Darwen Live then please leave your details with somebody at the main stage over the weekend. Thanks to our sponsors and partners involved and a special big thanks to all of the organising committee who each year put a lot of their free time into making this festival great – but we can’t do it without you so cheers and enjoy. Darwen Live Committee
