CREATING & SHARING A PARTICIPANT LIST WITHIN TURNINGPOINT

From the TurningPoint toolbar, click on “Participants” Click “Import a Participant List” Right click on the Participant list to be shared and click “Copy” Paste directly into the body of the email

To open and save a received participant list, follow the steps below: Step 1: From within the email, right click on the attachment (participant list) Step 2: Save file to the desktop Step 3: Click on “My Computer” Step 4: Click on the C:drive Step 5: Click “Document & Settings” Step 6: The user will click on their file (example Step 7: Within the user’s file, click on “My Documents” Step 8: Click on “TurningPoint” Step 9: Click on “Participant List” Step 10: Drag file from desktop into Participant List folder And, from within TurningPoint when ready to use the shared participant list simply click on “Participants” and “Edit a Participant List”. The newly added participant list will appear in the list of other previously saved lists.


EXAMPLE B: From the TurningPoint toolbar, click on “Participants” followed by “Participant List Wizard”……


Next, select a Participant List Template . It is recommended that the default “Education Template” be used. Click “Next”…..


Customarily, the only fields needed in a participant list include the student’s last name, first name and student ID. Select the information needed and click “Next”….


Adding a group within a participant list is optional and not recommended for new users. Once a user has become familiar with TurningPoint and creating participant lists, sorting information via additional groups can be added. Examples of such cases could include statistical information such as: free/reduced lunches, NCLB, girls vs. boys, race, etc… To disregard and continue, simply click “Next”…..


Name the participant list from this screen and click “Finish”. Suggested naming schemes might include: •Anderson Period 1 •Anderson Period 2 •Block 1 •Block 2


Device ID’s should have already been saved to a CD or flash drive and stored within the TurningPoint kit. If so, copy the device ID’s from the CD/flash drive and paste into the “Device ID” field. It has also been suggested that the student information (Last Name, First Name & ID) be stored in an Excel spreadsheet as well. If so, this information can be copied and pasted into the fields below.


To share a Participant List (alternate option), highlight and copy all fields below and paste into an Excel spreadsheet

Save the Excel spreadsheet accordingly and share as needed.
