Troubleshooting Your Digital Classroom Wall Controller 1. Two types of Wall Controllers in the County Middle Schools (except Rex) do not have battery backups. If you have a power surge, you must reset the wall controller. HOW TO RESET THE WALL CONTROLLER •

If the bottom two buttons are blinking – DON’T TOUCH ANY BUTTONS UNTIL you reset the wall controller’s internal clock. To do that – first look at the current time and round up to the nearest hour. (Note: the clock is a 24 hr clock)

Example: If the time is 9:33 am, round up to 10:00 am. Press the HR button10 times and press the SET button once. Functionality will be restored.

Example: If the current time is 2:15 pm, press the HR button 14 times and press the SET button once. Functionality will be restored.

2. What happens if you don’t reset the clock on the Wall Controller and just start pushing buttons? The Wall Controller’s internal clock will have to be reset. To do this you have to put in a work order to have Compu-Trac or Technology come out and reset it. You know this has happened when the teacher tells you that the projector is shutting off at the same time every day and it’s a different time from the 4:30pm original programmed time. 3. Mute/Standby/Input Button(bottom right button) Only use this button if you want to address the class for a moment and you don’t want to have to wait for the projector to cool down before you can turn it back on. (Remember this does not turn off the lamp. It is still burning and using lamp life) You will not see the blue screen. 4. Nothing but blue is showing on the Screen or Whiteboard or you see No Signal Press the Computer button to project the laptop image or press the Video button to project from the DVD/VCR/TV Tuner. (At this point, you might also hold down the Fn key and tap the F4 key from the laptop, pausing between taps, to make sure the problem is not a toggle issue from the projection mode of the laptop. Remember that this is a 3-mode toggle.)

Wall Plate 1. No sound from the computer The VGA cable with the Audio Pigtail must be securely plugged into the wall plate 2. No sound or picture from the DVD/VCR/TV Tuner Make sure the Audio/Video cable (White, Yellow, and Red pigtail cable) is plugged into the wall plate and check the volume level at the wall pad control 1/26/2013 3:10:32 a1/p1

Projector 1. Projector is on and you see both green lights but no picture is showing 1. Press the Mute/Standby/Input button 2. Time to change out the lamp (put in a work order) 2. Projector will not come on from the wall controller Check out a projector remote from the Media Center and have them put in a work order for Compu-Trac to come out. 3. Projector will not come on even using the projector remote 1. Check to make sure the batteries are good in the remote 2. Check to see if the IR emitter has come loose from the projector (put in a work order to have the IR emitter re-attached) 4. Projector will not shut off with wall controller or remote Only if you feel comfortable, stand on a chair or ladder and unplug the power plug. Wait 10 seconds and re-plug it. This resets the projector and fixes the problem.
