One Forest Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary | Northern Western Ghat Water manifested in the many forms of wetness is the lifeline of the forest, so the junction between the springs, streams, rivers & the forest form a very dynamic system with high moisture content and rich biodiversity. These serve as the corridor for the movement of flora and fauna. The pause points act as indicators of wetness, junctions to create an experience along with the riparian habitat, while also protecting the fragile ecosystems associated with it. Here, the journey is to experience the essence of water in different forms, sometimes in its original form, sometimes in the soil, and sometimes in the air. There is always a possibility of expanding and re-establishing the forest and its components along these systems and water protecting the fragile core ecosystem. Tracing Lines Bamber | Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary The village Bamber is a part of a larger system of the Western Ghats situated on the foothills of Sahyadri ranges as a part of Radhanagari wildlife sanctuary. The interlinked and layered systems of forest gives birth to a unique landscape dotted with numerous springs. This in turn nurtures the culture. It was observed that even the slightest disturbance to the interdependent systems of forest affect its fragile subsystems on which the life and culture of the people in turn sustain. The mined lands remain like scars that remind the people of a certain past they have lost when it still exists intact in parallel time and space. A reclamation project on this scarred land may help to the rejuvenation of land and revitalization of the fragile ecosystem through active community participation. About Springs Springs are essential component of the water source in the Northern Western Ghats. The springs are in the confined dense spaces, with the multilayered landscape, concentrated and with rich moisture content. They occur in the midlands of the forest. The settlements are situated near the spring area. All the critical elements that are present in system give rise to the formation of the village. So even a small change in this fragile ecosystem will lead to the breakdown of this system. Both these systems are very closely related to each other and interdependent.

The mined site shows signs of regeneration with different micro conditions in different locations. Understanding a mined site and its layers certain signs of regeneration were observed and the remnants of the original landscape were carefully identified to be preserved and acknowledged. Connecting Communities Sarkhej Roza Complex | Ahmedabad The site is located near the UNESCO heritage monument Sarkhej Roza. Sarkhej Roza is one of the oldest mosques in Ahmedabad city. The Muslim community’s settlement was established on the peripheral areas around the Roza complex. Communities with different cultures and traditions dwell in the same area using the same parcel of land to celebrate their happiness together. The design focuses on the amalgamation of these communities through festivals, common gathering spaces and the acknowledgement of heritage structures and the revival of the lake. Tutor - Anjali Jain, Divya Shah Third semester | CEPT University
PHYSICAL CONTEXT Once continuous forest of the northern western ghats The study area is located in the southern part of the city. The settlement was established on the periphery. The map shows the larger context of the site, the Makarba lake, Roza Complex, and surrounding community settlements. The interesting fact of this site is Muslim and Hindu communities are dwell in the same area. The study area is about 30 acres out of which 8.5 acres acres is a open land which is the site.
