Hand-knotted carpets contain piles which are made using warp and weft. This is made in inner process or by knotting. Handtufted carpets are also called as cut-pile carpet. This is made using a gun which is used to insert wool in cloth according to the design of carpet.
Material Difference:
Hand-knotted carpets are woven in pure silk and wool material with the combination of cotton but hand-tufted carpets are woven in pure wool.
Design:
Hand-knotted carpets contain very intricate design patterns but hand-tufted carpets contain simple and bold design patterns.
Weaving Process and price:
Hand-tufted carpets take less time to weave as compare to the hand-knotted carpet. So that hand-knotted carpets are more expensive instead of hand-tufted carpet.
Durability:
Due to inner weaving process, hand-knotted carpets are highly durable as compare to the hand-tufted carpets.
