An Inline pump is a kind of a centrifugal pump which is required when a fluid that flows in the pumps requires heavy pressure to move in any direction. While inline pumps are mostly used for the transfer of hot and cold water, and are popular in the fields of irrigation, as they help in boost in the flow of water in the field; but recently different industries such as chemical, petroleum metal and paint industries have started using them because of them being convenient to use and having very simplified methods of operation as they do not have to change direction in case of inline pumps, as it is needed with most of the other pumps.
The most important advantage of the inline pumps is that they lack most of the bearing weight and therefore there is no mechanical contact, because the hydraulic thrust balance lifts the rotating assembly off of the thrust bearing. Most inline pumps come with a reverse circulation option and the motor section is continuously vented that is why industries that deal with volatile liquids have started to prefer it. Inline pumps are also used as seawater booster, sewage treatment, isomerization etc.
Inline pump has a lot of uses depending on the industry they are being used. Recently Chemical industries have started to use the Inline pumps because the Inline pumps come with a check valve that does not allow the fluid to leak from the pump system during it is being transferred. Since chemicals are toxic in nature and are highly corrosive fluids, and are volatile and flammable, hence Inline pumps are used in the transfer of chemicals without any worries of leakage or accidents happening. Because of the same reason, paint industries use these inline pumps, since paint itself being a chemical solution requires transfer. Also, the cleaning of the transferred material during the process is an important process and these pumps take good care of the fact that they are transferred carefully. Almost the same is the case with the Petroleum industry, where fluids are required to be transferred, and are heavy, corrosive and extremely volatile. A minor leakage incident can cause a major accident. These pumps here help in the transfer of heavy liquid along with managing heat transfer. The outflow of the treated fluid is made easy, thanks to inline pumps. Since most of the petroleum manufacturing locations are at remote locations, inline pump is conveniently used because of its compact nature in size and being easily portable. Metal industry requires Inline pumps as water is a very common and important factor in most of its processes. Water is used for non-contact as well as direct contact cooling and cleaning of the metals during the process. Since water transferred in inline pumps flows at a very high speed it cools and cleans the metals easily. It is also useful in rinsing of the processed metal. Inflow pumps ensure reliable water supply and disposal. It helps in cleaning of contaminated cooling water with aggressive and abrasive media to be removed and cleaned from the disposal. Hence inline pumps are such pumps which are of a diverse use across various industries, because they are known for their strength and security, as well as their effectiveness and efficiency! They are a must have for successful industries of the 21st century!
