Dyke relocation at Voorsterklei

New situation

Dyke relocation work is being carried out in Voorsterklei to protect the hinterland during high water of the river IJssel.

A new dyke is being constructed a kilometre inland. Lowering sections of the old dyke on the north and south sides will create inflow and outlet openings.

Sections of the surface level are being lowered by between 1 and c. 3 metres and several houses and farming companies are being moved. Where possible, the ground will remain in use for farming purposes.
