Dyke relocation at Hondsbroeksche Pleij The Pleijdijk (dyke) in the Hondsbroeksche Pleij has been moved land inward and a high water channel, a control system and a pond have been created. These interventions increase the drainage capacity of the rivers IJssel and Nederrijn during high water. They also maintain the agreed distribution of water discharge.
The control system ensures that there is no disruption to the set distribution of water over the IJssel and Nederrijn even during high water.

A pond is being created to cope with the rising groundwater during high water. This prevents cellars and crawl spaces from being submerged.
In the case of the pond, a pumping station is being built that pumps captured water back into the IJssel.
