My Process

Approaching potential clients/ target market Decision making has moved online, which is why an online database and good reviews make it possible to attract the right customer. Another part of marketing online was the target market for which surveying the homeowners helped.

1

Having a budget makes it easier to keep the expenses on track. An approximate estimate from the contractor and expenses for additional ourchases is confirmed with the client before the start of the project.

6

Design Proposal A clear concept with options for paint, furniture and fabric selection make a good proposal. Effecient floor plans with appropriately scaled furniture add to the presentation.

5

Briefing and reseacrh This is the discovery phase and to capture the spirit of the client it is vital to ask questions about their requirements. It is more like a client survey which further moves into measuring the space and taking photos. This forms the backbone of the design.

2

4

Conveying design idea to contrator/ workers Samples and pictures are the most essential tools. Plans and elevations make it better to communicate with the contractor. Also, accepting functional aspects from the contractor improves the design process.

Execution of projectmaterial and furniture This includes carpentry, civil work, getting the light fixtures installed and the walls painted. Throughout the project, it is necessary to keep a track of the process and to make sure it is going according to plan.

Finishing details The project is completed once the finishing touches are added such as accessories and personal items.

CAFE DESIGN Istituti Callegari Milano

Created under guidance of: Luca La Mantia & Shankar Salian Tools: AutoCAD & Photoshop Concept: This project was designed more on a concept based approach. The idea was to create an attractive design concpet given in a restricted area. Here, I have designed a space which plays with depth by creating wooden planks running from the ceiling to the walls. This brings a three dimensional effect. Taking adavantage of this, the lgihting played an vital role wherein it enhanced the overall ambience. Therefore, the custormer experiences a feeling of being in a mysterious cave like space with no access to daylight and the three pillars forming the backbone of the design.

My Creative World Painting My paintings mostly show my dreams, fantasy and memories. The medium used is watercolor. To me, the delight of watercolor is in capturing the light within the white paper by surrounding it with successive washes of transparent color.
