İzlanda Snæfeljokull

Snæfellsjökull İzlanda’nın Snæfellsnes yarımadasında bulunan en son M.Ö. 200 yılında patlamış, sönmüş bir yanardağdır. İzlanda içinde barındırdığı ekstrem doğa koşulları ile doğa fenomenleri ülkesi olarak bilinmekte bununla beraber Snæfellsnes yarımadası da İzlanda’nın batısında bulunan doğal oluşumların zenginliği ve çeşitliliği nedeniyle genellikle ‘’Minyatür İzlanda’’ olarak adlandırılır. Bölgenin %80 inde yerleşim izni bulunmayıp doğa kendi ile baş başa bir haldedir. Yeryüzünün kutuplara doğru incelmeye başladığı Snæfellsnes’ de yer altı zenginlikleri yeryüzüne çıkmıştır. Yarımada yeryüzünün tüm hallerini görüp deneyimleyebileceğimiz bir coğrafya olarak çalışma bölgesi seçilmiştir. Snæfellsjökull’un coğrafi ve fiziksel yönlerinin ele alınmasının yanı sıra kültürel tarihiyle olan bağlamı projenin temel felsefesini oluşturmuştur.

Iceland -Snæfeljokul

Snæfellsjökull is the last found in 200 BC’s Snæfellsnes peninsula. It is an erupted volcano that erupted. Iceland is known as the country of extreme natural conditions and natural phenomena, however, the Snæfellsnes peninsula is also often called “Miniature Iceland” due to the richness and diversity of natural formations located in the west of Iceland. In 80% of the region, there is no settlement permit, and nature is alone with itself. In Snæfellsnes, where the earth began to thin towards the poles, the underground riches came to the earth. The peninsula has been chosen as a geography where we can see and experience all the earth’s states. In addition to addressing the geographical and physical aspects of Snæfellsjökull, its context with its cultural history has been the basic philosophy of the project.
