ASseSs Your Place PlAce Prize Giving! As young people we are often being tested and assessed in the places we learn in (like at school and college). This is your chance to evaluate the world that is always testing you! You are invited to assess your place by creating awards to present to objects, buildings or spaces within the place you are investigating.

w Use these prompts to come up with at least three other awards that you can nominate some of your places for. You can make a shortlist of places and vote for the winners as a group. Create your paper or sculptural awards (you could make paper badges, rosettes or design your own trophies)! Take your awards out and present them to the winning places and document your prize-giving journey. .
Working online? This activity can also be
done without visiting the places in person. You can add digital awards to the digital map you created earlier or make paper/

SoUveniRs frOm YouR Place Make a souvenir inspired by your journey through the place you are exploring. This could be through drawing, photographs, creating a poem or an object. Think about something that stands out to you on your journey, a feeling you have or something you notice. It could be inspired by people you meet, the landscape you move through or the sounds you hear. Swap your souvenir with someone else and exchange your stories.

We’re often trying to get somewhere, moving from a to b. Try going for a slo-mo walk without an agenda, take a turn round a corner you wouldn’t normally take. What’s it like to just be in your place?
GET Lost iN YoUr PlAcE! Psychogeography is an exploration of urban environments that emphasizes playfulness and meandering. “It focuses on our psychological experiences of the city, and reveals or illuminates forgotten, discarded, or marginalised aspects of the urban environment. Psychogeographers advocate the act of becoming lost in the city. This is done through the dérive, or “drift”.
5
Because purposeful walking has an agenda, we do not adequately absorb certain aspects of the urban world. This is why the drift is essential to psychogeography; it better connects walkers to the city. Psychogeography is useful in showing that walking is not only an art form in itself. It is also crucial in understanding the complication between the histories and myths of urban landscapes.”
