There was plenty of action on the show floor and Running Insight photographers were there all three days to capture it.

Education took center stage during The Running Event, with Parker Karnan (left) addressing a full house in his opening day keynote presentation on the State of Run Specialty. At right, the Training Camp Theater on the show floor focused on a number of key issues facing running in the new year.

Sasha Spencer Atwood, of the World Athletic Championships (left), and On Running’s Britt Olson took part in the Running Industry Diversity Coalition panel on “The Future of Running is Diverse.” TRE executive director Christina Henderson (right) presents a big check to Saucony’s Todd Swenson for being voted the top product in the New Product Showcase. The $1000 will go to a charity of Saucony’s choice.

Deena Kantor showed the love by making an appearance and signing some autographs at the ASICS booth. Everything is bigger in Texas, including the Big Pink bags from Saucony that could hold all the TRE swag any attendee could collect.

What better way to take a load of tired feet and legs during the show than a few minutes wrapped in Hyperice’s Normatec Legs. Ahhhhh. Making a personal statement for The Running Event are Buff’s Lauren Bollinger (left) and Spencer Moore with Limited Custom Edition neckwear.

We’re not quite sure what they are doing in the high-tech New Balance booth, but the lights and bright colors sure did attract a crowd. Upper Quadrant had a technical and humorous message for retailers at its booth as it reached into the past for inspiration.

One of the most emotional moments at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday night was the presentation of the Balega Ubuntu Award to the company’s own Bert and Tanya Pictor (in middle, holding the hardware), who recently retired from the company they founded. It seems the whole Balega family came out to celebrate with the couple on the last evening of The Running Event.

Food is always on the minds of busy TRE attendees and the Happy Hour on the show floor at the end of Day 1 provided plenty of food and beverages for all, while the Saucony food truck surprised some lucky people with a free breakfast on the way to the show.

The Running Event’s executive director Christina Henderson celebrates as the doors open on the show after a two years of effort for her and her team at Diversified Communications. She says she will see everyone at TRE22 next year — same time, same place.

It was an eerie early-morning start for runners at the annual Indie 5K, held at the unique Circuit of The Americas race track.

Everyone has their own style and reason for running, including one intrepid participant who apparently forgot to pack his shirt and shorts.

On your mark, get set, run!!!! Participants in the Indie 5K hit the track where race cars usually zoom past at a much-faster pace.

After finishing the Indie 5K it’s all about the swag at the Post-Race Expo, including nutrition from JoJe and Nuun.
