“you fly... your words fly... your words make you fly. when you write, you pour your hear t out. your words are heavier than your soul. they lift you away and bring you to the other world, to the other dimension. they put you on a track of time they teach you to walk then you run and fly. it’s where mind meets hear t, where logic finds emotions. words bring you up, lift you higher above the sky, your words make you fly.. your words fly... you fly.”
This portfolio summarizes my reflection in the field of architecture, first years at CEPT University, India. It glimpes over the past 3 years. This portfolio comprises the process of my enlighement and challange that I keep promoting to create architecture, to experience architecture based on the empricism.

Initial concept
Site area 250 sq. mt. Built up 650 sq. mt. Brief Studio focusing on the inter-relationships between proramme, structure and site. Spatial modulation through light and movement. Site was near a lake in Udaipur. Studio brief was to design an art-commune, which would invite artists, academicians, curators and all kind of creative individuals and offer a space for research, reflection and intense production of the art. The commune was to be made primarily using sand stone and with secondary use of timber and glass.

2nd Year, Monsoon, 2014 Project type Horse to Bridge Project Programme Bridge Brief Studio was about thinking beyond the obvious. Intention was to abstract an image to various models by studying the subject of the image in detail.
Horse walk cycle pattern
Abstract models of the observation were made which depicted form, behaviour of the entity or the geometry.

community housing reinterpretation & cluster courtyard typology
2nd Year, Spring, 2015 Project type Community housing Project site Madhapar,Bhuj Project Programme Jota, Ekaliyu, cluster of 36 houses
Public to Private spaces
Concept model
Site area 10,000 sq. mt. Unit area 180 sq. mt. Brief Studio focused on interperation of the duality of the traditional typology. The traditional house type of madhapar is courtyard houses along with the shared walls on either sides. All the houses are built on the plot of 9*20 meter, a jota plot.Which could then get devided along the longer axis into two halves called ekaliyu. The challege was to understand how this tranformation can guide the design process and decisions about the spaces, structure and services. The cluster proposal has been done as a collective effort in a group of 4 students.

Intangibles

Unmeasurable things
Measurable things
Project type Public institution Project site Near sanskar kendra, a’bad Project Programme Center for contemplation Site area 4000 sq. mt. Brief Objective was to understand the historical development of “Manifestos” and their influence on Architecture. Each individual was to form a strong architectural manifesto that was supposed to be reflected in each and every design implication. The intention was to question one’s personal interpretation and ideology of architecture. Attempt was to accentuate the process of translating a manifesto into design. The manifesto created by each student influenced the program accordingly.
Way to intangible qualities passes through tangible aspects. Thus, architecture should provoke unmeasurable qualities out of measurable things.
Simplicity
Complexity
To enhance invisible qualities.
why
To reach to the intangibles.
By optimising complexities.
how
By responding to all tangibles.
Simplexity
Thus, process becomes complex, inherently complex. But product is simple. By simplicity architecture can achieve serenity. Which reflects a balance between tangibles and intangibles.
simplicity serenity
Peace
Chaos
Architecture which is silent reflects nature, reflects us through serenity. And brings us back to our existence, which makes us sense our roots.
Architecture should be mere reflection of the chaos that we live in.
To feel white the way one first needs to experience black. Similarly way to peace passes through chaos.
Physical chaos
Psychological chaos
Chaos that we feel in the mortal realm. Chaos which our body experiences through senses.
Chaos that our heart feels. Coming out of that will bring inner peace.
To make one experience intangible, which is silence. The way to reach there passes through all the tangibles. All the tangibles are complexly connected and silence lies in simplicity. Architecture which yearns for silence for simplicity by looking at all the complexities. To find a way to peace, away from the chaos created by all the tangibles. To think our existence, to feel our existence. ‘Cause that’s how we turn tangibles into intangible.

The programme should come from the manifesto. Here, the programme being, a place to make one feel their existence, to make them see life in a different way. Theory of a waterdrop. A waterdrop falls down from the cloud and reaches on the ground. Different ways it takes to reach where it belongs. From the floods it goes, through the rivers it flows. Ultimately reaches where it belonged, where it came from, sea.
