DEMO 2. SANDBOX2
All the files you need are here: R:\samples\Arch\ARCH1101 - Lowe\CrysisWars_Setup_Files
First Install the Crysis Wars game and patch: Step 1: Copy both the CrysisWarsTrial.rar and the CrysisWars_patch5.exe to your computer. Step 2: Unzip the CrysisWarsTrial.rar to your hard drive. Step 3: Double click the AutoRunCD.exe you find inside the CrysisWarsTrial folder. Step 4: Follow the prompts, install everything it recommends. Step 5: Play the game (multiplayer > Local network game > create game > add a map to the "Level Rotation" > start game) Step 6: Double click the CrysisWars_patch5.exe and follow the prompts. Step 7: Done!
Now Install the Software Development Kit (SDK) ... This will give you the SandBox2 Editor: Step 1: Copy the folder CrysisWars_ModSDK_Package to your computer. Step 2: Install the 3 files in this order. a. CrysisWars_ModSDK_Tools_v1.1.exe b. CrysisWars_ModSDK_SPMod_v1.0.exe c. CrysisWars_ModSDK_SourceCode_v1.0.exe
Now Install the PlayUpTools ... These allow you to export models to the Objects folder in the Sandbox2 Editor: (notes from here: http://playuptools.blogspot.com/2008/07/getting-started.html) Step 1: Copy the PlayUpTools.exe to your computer. Step 2: Run PlayUpTools.exe Step 3: Install the files to your Google SketchUp directory Step 4: Run SketchUp Step 5: Go to Window > Preferences > Extensions and check the PlayUp box to enable the plugin (the same place as enabling SandBox Tools) Step 6: Go to Plugins > PlayUp > Preferences Step 7: Select "Crytek CryEngne 2" and specify the correct path information for the engine in the corresponding ta: Models Path: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Objects\YourStudentID_Objects RC Path: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\rc\rc.exe (note: the RC path above will be Bin64 if your are running a 64 bit system).
Once you have the Crysis Wars SDK installed and the paths correctly specified, you're ready to give it a go. Make a model and texture it. Select it and make it a component or group. Right click the model and you will see a choice for PlayUp Properties. Note that this option will not appear if you did not make your model a component or group. Only components and groups are exported by PlayUp. In PlayUp Properties, Enable Collision then Export Selected Geometry. Exporting selected geometry will just export the currently selected component or group as a singular model. When the process has completed, a window will appear letting you know.
