Cardinal Knight Digital Illustration with Mixed Media Elements 2014 30 x 40
Inspired by my interest in creating a character that was based on classes of warrior from two different cultures.
I used my love of both Aztec Eagle Warriors and Japanese Samurai to come up with the concept of a Cardinal Knight.
Woodland Screen Print Three Colour Screen Print Two Screens 2013 40 x 30
Produced during my time in university to explore the technique of screen printing and the process used in designing and
making an illustration in this format. I picked up so many techniques and processes from this one piece.
Bumble Bee Guardian Digital Illustration 2015 40 x 30
I noticed the basic outline I used to draw my characters looked similar to a stigma of a flower. This gave me the idea of drawing a character inside a flower. During this time I was obsessing over bee’s so I decided to incorporate
that into my design. For this piece I also wanted to experiment with a different shading technique and strictly sticking to three colours. This design was so successful that I transferred into a screen printed T-shirt design.
Honourable Death Ink Drawing in Wood Block 2015 40 x 30
I wanted to have a go at creating something a bit more traditional but with the same level of detail and finish as my digital pieces. I have always been a fan of illustrations on wood blocks which incorporate the wood texture and with
a hint of white, used for bordering or highlighting. I used this as my mine source of inspiration for how I wanted the final piece to look.
I am part of an artistic crew going by the name of Happy Medium. Though I have only been a part of it for a few years, I have already built up a strong relationship with them and have been able to work with them on some amazing projects in this short space of time. I joined the crew after contacting one of the artists (Mr Kobo) for a review on my portfolio. He saw potential in my work and felt it would work well with the rest of the crews and invited me along to an event with them. Mainly based in Wales, during the summer periods we travel around the welsh countryside attending music festivals where we create live murals over the course of the event. We have also held are own workshops inviting people to come and give spray-painting a go. We have also held art exhibitions showcasing the groups work or work of projects we have been apart of.
Budai Bee Spray Paint and Posca pens 2014 4ft by 5ft Board
The Happy Medium crew was invited to attend Ymuno festival 2014, a small family friendly festival hosted in Llandudno, Wales. The designs could be of our own making but of course appropriate for all ages. As a crew we decided to use
the festivals logo a bee as inspiration and create our pieces around that imagery.
Y YleTv Spot 2014 and 2015
The Happy Medium crew have been invited on two separate occasions to appear on the Welsh tv show Y Ylle. Taking part to showcase young talent in the area and what is out their for people to experience. The first time was creating a live mural
on camera in the studio and the second was doing a tour of an art show to which we were apart of. Both shows can be viewed following the links sorry but audio is in Welsh. (Y Gornel) (Collab Nation)
Pirate Ghost Monkey’s Wake Stock Festival Spray Paint with Posca Pens 2014 8ft x 5ft board
Wake Stock festival invited Happy Medium to come and paint over a day of their festival. Due to limited time we each decided to share a board and do a small piece each.
To fit in with the theme of the festival we did a pirate/ maritime inspired piece.
Doodle Sticker Pack Vinyl Sticker Pack 2013

Bushido Sticker Pack Vinyl Sticker Pack 2013

warriors during the time of the Edo Period. Each design was drawn in Illustrator and rendered in Photoshop.
Fallen Ronin Digital Illustration 2014 40 x 30
Inspired by my research into Samurai armour and culture. This was the first illustration that made me fall in love with this style armour design. Sparking many future projects to
be date involving samurai. This design was used for a print as well as a screen printed T-shirt and as part of a sticker pack.
Sin City Live Painting Spray Paint and Posca Pens 2014 8ft by 5ft Board
Due to past experiences, IllumiNaughty invited me to organize a group of artist’s to come and do some live painting at their Sin City event.
The designs we used were open to us but they had to fit in with the Halloween theme of the show.
A Couples Journey Vector Illustration 2014 21 x 15
This illustration was actually a Christmas present for my girlfriend but also an excuse for me to experiment in creating a scenic vector illustration. It was inspired by her favourite game Two Dots. The concept was to
illustrate me and her in a similar style to the game and to experiment with certain techniques seen through out the style of the game, which I had never used.
Futurama Robots Vector Illustration 2015 40 x 30
During my lunch breaks, I like to stay creative and at the time I felt like I wasn’t Illustrating enough due to my job being very graphical. To counter this I like to create small projects for myself, that I can chip away at each break. This
project started with me wanting to draw the Robot Devil from Futurama but decided to carry it on illustrating more of the robotic characters seen through out the seri, all in illustrator
Collaberation Nation Collaberation Nation is an international collaborative art project for artists, illustrators & doodlers from all creative backgrounds, which I was lucky enough to be apart of during its fourth instalment. The gist of the project is to bring artists from all over to come together and create a collaborative piece together. Each artist creates their own starting illustration with enough room for three other artists to add to it. This is then sent off to another artist via the postal service. They then add their own little section. This happens two more time so a total of four artists have worked on the one piece. The only rule is it must be an A3 piece and just in black in. The artist who started it can add colour once it is finished. It’s interesting to see how some pieces develop and how each artist wanted to add to the piece. Experiment four ended in us all bringing the pieces together into an art book and a full gallery show. It was incredible enjoyable to work on this project and I met so many cool artists from all over the globe.

Titan Soul T-shirt Design Client: Acid Nerve Digital Illustration Transferred into a Screen Printed T-shirt 2015
Brief was to design a screen printed T-shirt which was to be used as merchandise and promotional material for the developers up and coming game “Titan Souls.

Logo Flash Sheet Various random logo designs 2014 - 2015 A personal on going project inspired by my love of illustrative branding design. Each is design was created in Adobe Illustrator.
Department Icons Digital Illustrations 2014 After a seeing a previously unused poster I designed, using simple icon illustrations my manager asked if I could create something similar but of each area the college offered to learners. These icons went onto be the bases for the new imagery the collage would use. They were used on wall displays, pull ups, web banners and even the prospectus Each icon was drawn in Illustrator.
Zoology Illustration Digital Illustration 2015 14 x 14
I wanted to start a project that expanded my list of go to animals I could illustrate, would get me out of my sketchbook, create fully visual illustrations not just the character and help me explore using new
techniques and styles. This led to the creation of the Zoology Project, where I would use the same layout through but illustrate various animals I have always wanted to draw. I wanted to explore
using texture more using it for shading as well. Also using a set scheme through out, normally I would use different shades of colour for highlights etc but not this time. For example the highlights on the Bisons fear is also the colour of his
horns. I also experimented with doing all my colouring in Illustrator and only using Photoshop to add in the textures. Do to the success and the feedback of this project I have decided to accumulate each illustration into a full book,
including various facts of each species pictured. I want to stray away from more common animals and educate myself and the reader to new and exciting species.
Tatok Hunting Party Digital Illustration with Mixed Media Elements 2015 40 x 30
A goal of mine is to create my own range of story books suitable for all ages using my style, original stories or tales I have heard and would like to recreate in a visual format. The illustration pictured here is the
character design for the main character from my first book titled “Tatok based on an Inuit ritual.
Art Department Poster 29ft x 7ft Display Board 2015
The college was going to be attending a school event at Event City, Manchester. I was asked to design the graphic, which would be mounted onto our display board at this event.
The message behind the imagery was how we hope to progress our learners from their time at college.
