SVETLANA RAKHMAN TV Personality. Jewelry Designer. Business Woman Born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine, Svetlana Rakhman came to the United States in the summer of 1989 with her Husband, now married for over thirty years, to begin her career in the finance world. After becoming seasoned in the finance industry, with 17 years at numerous private banking firms, Rakhman decided she wanted to branch out and pursue her passion of luxury, high fashion, fine jewelry and design. Svetlana, who resides in Brooklyn, New York, opened Perlina Jewelers with her husband Sasha, who has a background as a master bench jeweler from his training back in the USSR combined with formal training in the United States. With their skill together, the business has grown tremendously over the past decade. A mother and grandmother of two, Svetlana’s family values amped her to do something in conjunction with her jewelry business that also brings special meaning to family. She began to plant the seeds for her line, now known as RUSSIAN DOLLS by Svetlana. The line officially launched in September 2011,
and combines her passions for Russian history together with
jewelry. RUSSIAN DOLLS by Svetlana is a modern interpretation of what most people know as the Russian nesting doll. Consisting of a trio of Russian dolls, all handmade with a silver body, enamel face and belly. Passionate about fashion, Svetlana is inspired by some of her favorite designers including Chloe, Tom Ford, J. Mendel, Roberto Cavalli, Matthew Williamson and Sonia Rykel, just to name a few. Her personal style can be described as simple, elegant and classy yet she can also step out and make a statement every so often--and pull it off! In her spare time she likes to relax at home spending time with her family or playing an occasional game of tennis with girlfriends. After starring in Lifetime’s newest reality series Russian Dolls, some might say opulence is Rakhman’s middle name with her fabulous lifestyle and the undoubtably charismatic presence she brings into a room when she walks in.
