Dear Community Members and Friends, As the United States Congresswoman for California’s Seventh District, I am honored to welcome you all to the 2023 Annual Multicultural Business & Career Expo hosted by the Council for Cross-Cultural Affairs, with the support of Russian American Media, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, Kabateck Strategies, APAPA, Sacramento 365, Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, Slavic-American Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Asian Chamber of Commerce, and other local Chambers of Commerce. The Multicultural Business and Career Expo highlights the Sacramento region’s innovative business community and the vibrant workforce that keeps it moving forward. I commend the Council for CrossCultural Affairs and its partners for their dedication to this event and to Sacramento’s economic development.
Just over one year ago today, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. My colleagues and I drafted this monumental bill with the intention of directing billions of dollars to cut dangerous emissions, lower healthcare costs, and build a greener, more resilient economy. These goals are only possible with the continued work of organizations like the Council for Cross-Cultural Affairs connecting our various Sacramento communities with employers across the region. It is clear from the various employers at today’s event that Sacramento is poised to continue to capitalize on the transformative programs within the Inflation Reduction Act. I will continue to fiercely defend the progress we have made and seek to build a better future for generations to come.
Thank you for attending the 2023 Multicultural Business and Career Expo and for supporting our world-class Sacramento workforce. For the latest updates on my work on your behalf in Washington D.C., please visit my website, www.matsui.house.gov. As always, please contact my office if I can ever be of assistance on any federal issue by calling 916-498-5600.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is thrilled to participate this year in the Multicultural Business and Career Expo. We believe this is a great opportunity to showcase SBA’s role in supporting small businesses and highlight the agency’s role in keeping small businesses competitive in America and the global marketplace. The Multicultural Business and Career Expo founded by Russian American Media and presented by the Council For Cross Cultural Affairs, provides a community benefit to all that attend. For SBA, this event is a great opportunity to showcase the products and services offered by SBA. We hope that you will come and learn how the U.S. Small Business Administration can assist businesses in starting, growing, and thriving. This is a great opportunity for us to show businesses the benefits of SBA Guaranteed Loans and how our Surety Programs can better leverage their bonding capacity and how to gain access to Government Contracting opportunities through small business certifications and how to participate in our 8(a) Business Development Program. The Multicultural Business and Career Expo has become a pillar event for the Greater Sacramento Area. The event provides a showcase of local businesses, government organizations and non-profits, improves consumer confidence, educates small business owners about the government contract opportunities, and connects leading employers with the local workforce professionals.

Our members have received benefit from the MULTICULTURAL Business & Career EXPO. This year, event organizer Sergey Ivannikov and team have done a fantastic job. Sergey’s Expo team has collaborated with business and agency leaders; we are assured a forward-looking Expo program. The Expo 2023 is top-notch.
We know small businesses are struggling - coming out of the pandemic. Certainly, families are receiving refugees fleeing from war in Ukraine. With such humanitarian challenges, where there is an opportunity, we can embrace, refer, or often engage. So, finding encouragement at this Expo 2023, and with God’s will for our success, we can discover renewed energy, hope, and solutions to meet unprecedented challenges, both commercial and humanitarian. The year 2023 can be transformative. Right now, this MULTICULTURAL Business & Career EXPO is an opportunity to make these things happen. See you at Expo 2023
John Kabateck CA Director National Federation of Independent Business www.nfib.comI am thrilled to be joining you at the MULTICULTURAL Business & Career EXPO. It is a privilege to be here with such a diverse group of leaders in the Sacramento community.
As some of you may know, my work with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) places me in communication with consumers and business leaders all around the country. Today, BBB’s mission of advancing marketplace trust is challenging work; however, we have a lot of support from our Accredited Businesses and members of the community who value honesty and integrity in the marketplace. We are dedicated to fostering respectful and meaningful relationships between consumers and the businesses they support. Our goal is to instill all consumers with confidence when making their purchase decisions.
BBB offers Accreditation to all qualified businesses. Whether you’re a Fortune 500 CEO or a sole proprietorship, there’s value in earning the BBB Seal of Trust. In addition, our BBB regularly hires for new positions, so I invite you to stop by our booth or visit our website to learn more: www.bbb.org

It is always inspiring to hear the stories of the entrepreneurs who seize the opportunity to drive our local economy and build something out of very little.
Hopefully, I’ll have the occasion to visit with some of you soon, but I hope you’ll take today’s event as a chance to network, outreach and grow with all of the other participants and attendees. Congratulations to Sergey Ivannikov and the team at Russian American Media for another successful event.
