Vacuum Coated Cladding A highly durable painted finish

Russwood’s vacuum coated cladding guarantees a consistent, high-quality finish and optimal long-term product performance.

Russwood manufactures vacuum coated cladding at our in-house coating facility. By treating the timber under factorycontrolled conditions we can guarantee that the application will be of a consistently high standard. This results in a flawless finish, optimal long-term coating performance and a reduced maintenance cycle.

BENEFITS Vacuum coated cladding offers a number of key advantages, when compared to on-site painting, with the most significant of these being listed below: Improved coating durability Using our state-of-the-art machine the coating is consistently applied to all sides of the board and the end grain is sealed. Dry paint thickness is precision-measured to the recommended optimal level of 80-120 microns, ensuring maximum coating durability.

Enhanced aesthetic properties Our carefully monitored quality assurance procedures guarantee that every board is uniformly finished to exactly the same specification, ensuring that the end result is flawless. Reduced maintenance Vacuum coating is highly durable and the resulting finish will last approximately twice as long as it if was applied on-site, providing considerable cost and time efficiencies. On-time project completion Adverse weather conditions can often lead to costly delays on-site, as the paint cannot be applied until the timber is at the correct moisture level. This issue is avoided by vacuum coating cladding, as it will be delivered to site finished and ready to fit.

ACCOYA® WOOD; RUSSWOOD’S TIMBER OF CHOICE FOR VACUUM COATING Russwood offer a selection of cladding timbers to suit every vacuum coated cladding project requirement; Scottish Larch, Siberian Larch, Western Red Cedar, Oak and Frake. All boards are graded to the highest possible specification, are sustainably-certified and are naturally durable. Russwood also supply Accoya® wood, a modified timber which offers several advantages over unmodified wood. It is highly recommended for coated cladding projects for the following reasons: Outstanding dimensional stability Timber swelling and shrinkage is virtually eliminated in Accoya® wood, meaning that the vacuum coating is not subjected to such severe stretch and shrink cycles. This enables the coating to last for up to three times longer, thereby substantially reducing maintenance frequency. Exceptional durability Accoya® wood is one of the few timbers to be listed as durability Class 1 (BS EN 350-1),

meaning that it is virtually rot proof. The advantages of this are that the overall lifetime value of the product is extremely high and it provides a perfect coating substrate. By combining the impressive benefits of vacuum coating with the incredible stability and durability of Accoya® wood, remarkable results can be achieved, as illustrated in the coating comparison diagram below.
