Coldnight have been considered the best Colombian Metal for quite a while. Andrew Stanton talked to the legend that is Coldnight.

Hello and welcome to Inside the Darkness.

“Hello, thanks for keeping me on mind for it Andrew.”

- Can you tell our readers a bit about your history, please?

“Sure, Coldnight is my own project of Ambient DSBM, inspired by desolate landscapes, paranormal ambientation and piercing screams in a sad melody.”

- What bands did you like growing up?

“From the very moment I started to listening to Metal music I’ve started from Evol, Abyss, Nokturnal Mortum.”

- Do you think it’s fair to link DSBM to suicide?

“Yes, as itself name, some bands have their lyrics focused in this topic, bands like Silencer has a content very suicidal.”

- Do DSBM bands try to be controversial, or is there another reason for it?

“I think some are controversial, others touch on the subject because it has I think DSBM is the same of some old genres like Melodic Black Metal. become fashion able among bands.”

- Now you and your husband have both recovered from COVID-19, will this maybe change your future lyrics?

“Yes, everything has changed from Covid-19, Journals are more long, health isn’t the same so always mental health and disposition will be first.”

- Why do DSBM bands never associate with any other kind of music? It always seems very separate.

“I think DSBM is the same of some old genres like Melodic Black Metal or even we were listened this kind of music from many time ago with other names.”

- Why do you always sing in English?

“Because I had the support of labels of other countries, I sing in English to bring my music to other places.”

- What will your next album be like?

“As I told you, after Covid-19 things have changed, I would like to keep the title of my last album split with Lifeblood and bring my favorite songs of the past to this style.”

- Do you have a message for our readers?
