- Can you tell our readers a bit about your history, please?

“Murder Hate is a Death Metal band from the coffee region (Col), the band was born in Calarcá in 2010, we have recorded three full-length albums and one EP. We’ve been making Death Metal for eleven years, along the way new people have joined and others have left, but we always keep the machine running. In our lyrics we like to talk about mythology, literature, social problems, philosophy and more.”

- Who are the current line up members?

“Leonardo Aviles – Guitar and voices. Jhonnatan Sánchez – Bass and voices. Nicolás Espinosa – Drums and Voices.”

- What bands did you like growing up?

“We are all influenced by the wave of classic Death Metal, Cannibal Corpse, Six feet Under and Deicide. But we also grew up listening to other tunes. We grew up in the Nu Metal boom, so we have a lot of influences from that style of music as well.”

- What are your lyrics about?

“Our lyrics talk about mythology, literature, social problems, philosophy and more. whatev er blows our minds, we can talk about the divine comedy and the nine circles of hell like we do in our latest album “Infortunii Ex Nihilo” or about Jekyll and Mr. Hyde like in our “Alter Ego” song.”

- Why did you do a cover of Jefferson Airplane’s “Somebody to Love”?

“We did that cover because we love Rock and Roll and that song represents a golden age of music. We like the style we gave to the cover, we did it with a lot of strength and respect.”

- Why do you wear suits?

“It is part of our performance to wear suits, for this last season we decided to use them trying to respect and represent elegance towards the music we make.”

- Have you toured much around South America?

“We have toured Colombia with our music, we have not yet left our country but we are already making preparations to start a tour outside.”

- Will you ever tour Europe or North America?

“We have never been to Europe or North America, but we are making some contacts that could take us on a tour.”

- Do you have a message for our readers?

“We would like to invite you to join our social networks to listen to our music and take a look at everything that happens in Colombia with the Death Metal community.”
