The Pinellas Youth Symphony makes its home in The Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute at Ruth Eckerd Hall. The Serenade Strings Orchestra is the showcase string orchestra comprised of advanced students of the Pinellas Youth Symphony under the direction of Mr. Lei Liu, Second Assistant Concertmaster of The Florida Orchestra.

Under the direction of professional musicians from The Florida Orchestra, senior level student musicians from the Pinellas Youth Symphony perform classical selections for string, woodwind and brass chamber ensembles. The PYS chamber groups perform at local community and charity events and prior to concerts or programs at local venues.

Become part of this special group of individuals dedicated to supporting the continuation of stellar classical performances. Stradivarius Society Gala – Saturday, February 5, 2011 The Stradivarius Society Gala supports the tradition of bringing national and international classical programming to Ruth Eckerd Hall and our community. This year’s event Co-Chairpersons, Chris Nodine, Maria Cantonis and Leslie Freedman will host this special evening in the Margarete Heye Great Room. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception and elegant seated dinner, followed by an 8 pm performance by Joshua Bell. Sponsorship levels are available for $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000.

Annual Meeting – Wednesday, March 23, 2011 This dinner meeting reviews the latest news about the Hall’s business plans and community impact. Also presented is a Special Recognition Award to a longtime supporter of the arts.
