“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” (Leonardo da Vinci 1452- 1519)
WHO I AM? Creative, original and solution oriented thinking, that is in which I distinguish myself from others. Because I have experience in construction works and landscaping, I know how thinks are builded and which steps are required. This experience will help me during the creative process to create a realistic design. Difficult design projects or problems are a challenge for me, where others stop because they don’t see any opportunities for success I will keep searching for solutions. Branding and designing products, reports and posters during projects have a important priority for me. In this i can distinguish myself from others. Besides this personal skills in the work field, I’m a real team player, and dare to take a low profile if it is in interest for the group.

This project is located in Wroclaw, Poland and is about an old trollycardepot. The assignment was to give this old trollycar depot an new function, which provide a new impulse for his surroundings. By research it became clear that the depot was surrounded by parks, and that the depot separated the parks. To create a connection this project is about the surroundings of the depot and not about the depot itself. Because when you change the surroundings, this depot has to get a new function for sure.On the following pages we will see a analyse which provide tools to build up the master plan. The world is changing and oil is running out, what are we going to do when there is no oil anymore? That is the question that no one can answer jet, but there are some movements like public initiatives like the transition town movement. This movement is trying to create small communities that are self supplying in energy and food. This assignment in the province of Goriska Brda in Sloviana is based on this principle. To create a self supplying town, there must be a lot of abandoned land or wine terraces. Kojsko is the ultimate place to calculate this experiment on, and will develop in 50 years to a town that is self providing in water, energy, food and spices. On the following pages step by step is explained how this town will develop in the coming 50 years. University: Saxion and University of Ljubljana, faculty of architecture. BROEKLAND OVERIJSSEL

Fairground in Broekland is a well known event in the region of this village . In summer and in winter a lot of people will come the project area to have a good time. After the fairground the grounds are abandoned and not usable for the people around the area. The municipal of Broekland wants to change this, and create a place that is usable for the hole year. Because this village lays central in different kinds of landscapes and soils, we decided to put this central in our design. Urban heat islands are a problem for big cities nowadays. In the centre of these big cities the temperature will be higher than at the edge of the city. Arnhem is located at the Rijn, but knows this problem also. In the city centre and in the industrial area are heat islands that are heating up the city. Research results are telling that the main cause of this problem is no vegetation and wind in the city centre or industrial area. Big housing blocks, buildings and fabrics are blocking the wind from the river so it can’t cool down the narrow streets of the city centre. In this assignment we searched for strategies to give nature more space and cool down the urban heat spots. 2 Green industry
3 Modern industrial area
This zone is going to be redeveloped as a sustainable industrial area in combination with green areas and green vistas between them to enable the wind enter the area. Area will be filled in with greenstructure lines based on the river line. This lines are connected to the main green line that goes through the city.
Nearby the river is created new industrial area with sustainable spatial qualities. All the buildings with the open hole are build up near the river/road and will be surrounded by the natural vegetation. Through the buildings we can see the city of Arnhem and the wind can blow through them. The buildings produce only climate neutral products. There will be made a new visual connection to the city and to the ecological area from the road by cutting down a gap in the vegetation along the road.
7 Connected to the river (Rijnkade) The quay of the Rhine is going to be more low, that makes the contact with waterlevel more strong. The floating terraces are make people excited of the difference of waterlevel.
7
Connected to the river
Floating terraces in front of the Rijnboog quay amplify the connection from the citycenter to the river. More social and recreational facilities have to connect this area to the attractive outlying.
2/4 The green corridor and business area This picture represents the old NS area at the points 2 and 4 that will be filled up with semi public spaces and connected to the river through the bussiness area in combination with housing. This “park will be some kind of recreational area with playgrounds for children and activities for people who live in the neighbourhood. Some of the old rails will be used for this activities. This park is also an important green border between living area and industrial area.
8 Recreational zone This small harbor is getting the function of recreational zone. Boats can capture and use the facilities of the area. There comes a restaurant, places for watersports and recreational functions.
5 Enclosed public gardens
6 Arnhem centre
6 Arnhem centre
The gardens will have a cooling effect on the city with using waterwalls that bring the moisture intio the air. Waterwalls have also an esthetical function and they bring a sound effect to the small spaces so they create a better atmosphere for relaxation. They can be situated at public spaces but at private spaces as well. A reference area from this effect is realized in Spijkerkwartier
Smaller oase system with eclosed public gardens in the middle of the city center will be developed. The city center of Arnhem will be filled in with green roofs. These designs are reducing the heat island effect from the city centre.
The green walls on the shops and houses in the city centre are for the view and also reducing the heat. The green is increasing a quality the living
8 Recreational zone
9 Ecological zone
10
The lane of Oaks will be a simple connection between the Mainroad N225 to the parking place of the facility area Stadsblokken. This area contains Buildings with recreational functions and facilities. The lane makes this view on the area a lot of stronger
The excisting ecological zone has a lot of natural values. The area is a living area for lots of organism and vegetation. The species are very variable by the differences in waterlevels and soils. Meinerwijk could be filled in with some simple forms of recreation. The farmer area stays as it is, the land could be a part of the ecological zone of Meinerswijk in the future.
This area will be deepened. The changed heightlevels will bring differents in vegetation so this area will become more ecological valuable and interesting. When there will be a high water level in the Rhine the area will be overfloated and used as a floodplain. There are situated some recreational paths through this area to create the connection from recreational zone to Malburgen.

Oerle is a old village that is grown nearby Veldhoven, and has an historical value for the region. It is part of Veldhoven and needs to expand in the south of Oerle, to keep the identity secure there has been research on the different kinds of housing types, structures and landmarks that are in Oerle. The main goal during the design was to give it the look of an natural grown part of Oerle. On the following pages we see the presentation posters. FC TWENTE
ENSCHEDE NETHERLANDS
FC Twente is a big football club that is growing fast. By this grow, the club has a parking problem during the football matches, this includes car and bike parking. In this assignment the bike parking problem will be solved in cooperation with the municipal of Enschede. After analyses and research it became clear that there was only one logical place that could be transformed. In cooperation with FC-Twente and Enschede, there was taken a new initiative, redesign the station area. On the following pages, we will see a design proposal that is designed to solve the biking and routing problem. PLEIN 40-45
AMSTERDAM
NETHERLANDS
Geuzenveld- Slotervaart is an city district that knows a lot of criminal problems and impoverishment in the last years. This city district wants to redesign the district centre that was so important for both districts. In these days shops are closing what result in empty parts of shop streets. The famous market on Plein 4045 that was hold 5 days a week, is degraded to 3 days a week and the square has an old and gray image before the redesigned shopping centre. After a research of 5 months, our vision was born. On the following pages we see the solutions for the centre of Geuzenveld- Slotervaart.
