Our Program Products, Installation and Technical Support Installation Per your requirements we can install trays at your plant or at the column fabricator’s facility.

Materials Materials of construction include carbon steel, stainless steel, hastelloy, nickel and titanium.

We offer solutions service ... ...to increase the performance of your columns: ■ Design, verifying and optimization of mass transfer trays ■ Simulation tests ■ Design of feed and drawoff arrangements

With the exception of valve trays RVT Process Equipment can supply mass transfer trays in the following thermoplastic materials: PPH, PE, PVC, PVC-C, PTFE. Our staff members are certified to work with all metal and thermoplastic materials.

Technical Support We supply ... ...proven mass transfer trays:

In case of emergency we can supply sparte parts and short term deliveries.

■ Sieve trays ■ Moving valve trays ■ Fixed valve trays ■ Bubble cap trays

...and special tray constructions: ■ Cascade trays ■ Tunnel trays ■ Shower decks/baffle trays ■ Dual flow trays ■ Cartridge trays RVT Process Equipment has been a certified company according to ISO 9001 since September 1996. Since 2005 RVT Process Equipment is a member of the FRI.

Sieve Trays and Dual Flow Trays The Economical Solutions Sieve trays Sieve trays are the most economical layout of mass transfer trays. Compared with valve trays the operating range is reduced.

Dual flow trays Dual flow trays are sieve trays without a downcomer device. They are mainly applied when fouling or polymerisation has to be expected

Valve Trays The Universally Applicable Types

This design can be used in a wide variety of ways. It is characterized by the high capacity and mass transfer rate as well as by a wide range of operation. Depending on the case of operation different valve types can be used. A3 Valve

V1 Valve

A3 Valve (caged valve)

■ Well-defined minimum height of stroke because of three integrated spacers

The A3 valve consists of a non-moving cage and a moving orifice cover.

■ Rotary protection device optional

■ Low sign of mechanical wear

■ Height of stroke is adjusted to the gas flow rate

■ Also applicable when the process agents are polluted

■ Applicable for many purposes

A4 Valve (caged valve) Lower pressure drop version of the A3 valve. Venturi-shaped orifice in the tray deck achieves this lower pressure drop.

Fixed Valve SRV

Fixed Valve SRV Fixed valve with a predetermined opening ■ Suitable for polluted or corrosive agents V1 Valve

V4 Valve Same basic valve design as the V1 valve. A venturi-shaped orifice in the tray deck is used to reduce pressure drop.

All valves can be supplied in different material thicknesses.

Bubble Cap Trays The Conventional Ones Bubble Cap Trays The conventional bubble cap tray is well-proven in applications having: ■ Very large loading ranges ■ Very low liquid loadings ■ Very low gas loadings ■ High residence time ■ Low leakage rates We have a wide variety of bubble cap geometries available. We also assemble bubble caps according to our customers specifications.

Thermoplastic Trays The Acid-Resistant Solution The following tray constructions are available in thermoplastic materials: ■ Sieve trays ■ Dual flow trays ■ Tunnel trays

Thermoplastic Tunnel Trays ■ Application for low liquid loadings ■ Liquid sealed ■ Well proven in acid recovery applications

Tunnel trays (1000 mm dia.) constructed of PVC-C material for use in an aequeous HCL system

Tunnel trays (400 mm dia.) constructed of heat-stabilized polypropylene

Characteristics of Thermoplastic Materials in Tray Applications Material

Characteristics

Resistant against

Upper operating Temperature

PVC (Polyvinylchloride)

hard and stiff thermoplastic, suitable for moderate temperatures

alkalis, acids, salts, oils, fats, benzine, aliphatic hydrocarbons

approx. +60°C

PE (Polyethylene)

high strength material suitable for low temperatures, low water absorption

alkalis, acid, salts, many organic solvents (alcohols, ketones, esters)

approx. +60°C

PP (Polypropylene)

hardnessw and stiffness greater than PE, alkalis, acids, salts, poor strength at low temperatures, many organic solvents higher temperature resistance than PE (alcohols, ketones, esters)

approx. +80°C

PVDF (Polyvinylidenefluoride)

fluorine containing themoplastic, good heat and coldness resistance

alkalis, acids, salts, many organic solvents (alcohols, ketones, esters) nitric acid, H2O2

approx. +120°C

PTFE (Polytetrafluorethylene)

excellent temperature resistance, reduced stiffness value high creeping tendancy

almost all chemicals

approx. +180°C
