Why You Feel Itchy All The Time? Itchy skin (pruritus) is an irritating and uncontrollable sensation that makes you want to scratch your skin to relieve the feeling. The various causes that can lead to itchiness includes internal illnesses and skin conditions.

Diabetes – You may feel itchy if you’ve diabetes. However, you might experience some skin problems due to a yeast infection or dry skin, among other things. Moreover, you may experience itchiness in your lower legs due to poor blood circulation. But if you’ve diabetes, make sure to get a proper treatment for it. You can also ease your itchiness by taking shorter showers or baths, use mild soap, and moisturize afterward. Medications – Sometimes you can experience itching due to your medications. The typical culprits include antifungals, antibiotics, opioids, anti-malarials, and narcotic pain drugs like opioids. Pinched Nerve – Pinched nerve can be a cause for itchiness if you have patch with no rash on your skin. A patch can occur due to an accident or you repeat a movement too much, like typing. This sort of infection (eczema) might lead to swelling that presses on a nerve. It can be treated with anti-inflammatories, and physical therapy, but in severe case you might need to undergo a surgery.


Shingles – You only get it if you've suffered from chickenpox in the past. Along with a painful, blistering rash, the chicken pox virus sometimes kill sensory ganglia cells, present in the brain. Due to this, you might experience pain and itching for months, even after the rash is gone. It happens in approx. 50% of the people who have experienced a shingles outbreak and it’s more common if your rashes were on the face or neck. Problems With Your Thyroid – An issue with your thyroid can make you feel tired, achy, weak, and foggy-headed. Moreover, it can make your skin dry and itchy. Women suffering with thyroid may notice some changes in their OMS cycle or might face some problems getting pregnant. This health issues can be controlled with artificial hormones and many other treatments. Mental Health – Anxiety, stress, and depression can worsen your skin problems. If in case you’ve an OCD problem, your frequent bathing, or hand-washing, or scratching habit can damage your skin tissues. Let your doctor know if you feel anxious or depressed. Lack of Iron – Deficiency of iron means you’re anemic. It can make you feel weak, tired, and you may experience breathe shortness. Your skin may get pale and itchy. Make sure to add beef liver, dark chocolate, oysters, and read meat in your diet to improve the count of red blood cells in your body.
