New afternoon tea with added sparkle launches at Rails
from Issue 39
Luxury Grade II listed Great Northern Hotel in King’s Cross is proud to introduce its brand-new Nyetimber Sparkling Wine Afternoon Tea, served Saturday to Monday from 1pm-5pm at the recently opened RAILS Restaurant.
Take a seat in the chic and stylish brasserie with a glass of Nyetimber English sparkling wine before choosing a loose leaf tea blend from East India Tea Company, from English Breakfast and Early Grey to Camomile and Lemongrass & Ginger. Tuck into savoury delicacies including classic finger sandwiches - filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese, and ham, English mustard and cress tucked between dainty slices of soft white and brown bread. Other savoury choices include a cranberry and sausage roll or vegetarian wild mushroom tartlet featuring freshly baked flaky pastry.

Afternoon tea would not be the same without quintessentially British scones and guests at RAILS will enjoy homemade fruit and plain varieties served alongside a selection of fruit preserves and lashings of Cornish clotted cream. Other delicious, sweet treats on offer include a zesty mango and passionfruit cheesecake; a banana deluxe; a light yet decadent chocolate mousse and a fluffy Victoria Sponge.
The Nyetimber Sparkling Wine Afternoon Tea is priced at £43 per person, or £35 per person for the standard Afternoon Tea. For an extra special touch, guests can also enjoy a glass of Perrier Jouët Champagne Afternoon Tea for £46 per person.
