Fáilte
Welcome
Tugann Comhairle Contae an Chláir agus Turasóireacht an Chláir cuireadh duit teacht ar cuairt go dtí An Clár le linn 2020 agus taitneamh a bhaint as áilleacht na dúthaigh, bia blasta an cheantair agus an pobal fáilteach chomh maith leis na céadta féilte agus imeachtaí a bheidh ar siúl ar fud an chontae i rith na bliana.
Clare County Council and Clare Tourism invite you to visit Clare during 2020 and to experience its scenic beauty, awardwinning cuisine and its welcoming people, as well as the hundreds of festivals and events taking place across the county throughout the year.
Leis an dá bhranda mór Slí an Atlantaigh Fhiáine agus Croíthailte Ceilte na hÉireann sa chontae chomh maith le Slí inbhear na Sionainne, is cinnte go spreagfar éispéiris dodhearmadta. Tá Contae an Chláir lán le radharcanna áille, an Bhoireann agus Aillte an Mhothair ina measc, Geopháirc UNESCO, Leithinis Cheann Léime aoibhinn, aibhneacha agus lochanna álainn Oirthear an Chláir agus Inis, baile contae stairiúil,iad go léir lonnaithe in aice le hAerfort na Sionainne. Tugann an treoirleabhar seo eolas maidir le gníomhaíochtaí ata ar siúl an bhliain ar fad sna bailte ar fud Chontae an Chláir. Táim thar a bheith sásta go mbeidh go leor imeachtaí nua sa bhreis ann agus roinnt eile méadaithe ón bhliain 2019 a chuirfidh go mór le heispéireas ár gcuairteoirí. Tá súil agam go spreagfaidh an treoirleabhar seo tú le cuairt a thabhairt ar ‘Chontae na Brataí’ (‘The Banner County’) agus fáil amach cén chúis a bhfuil an Clár mar cheann de na háiteanna is bríomhaire agus éagsúla in Éirinn.
With two major destination brands of the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands covering the County, in addition to the looped drive of the Shannon Estuary Way, Clare has a strong capacity to develop compelling experiences. County Clare is also home to the world-famous Burren & Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark, the scenically beautiful Loop Head Peninsula, the splendid rivers and lakes of East Clare and the historic county town of Ennis, all located within a short distance of Shannon International Airport. This guide showcases the breadth of activity taking place year-round in communities all over County Clare. I am delighted to see many new events have been added with others expanded since last year, further enhancing the experience of our visitors. I hope this guide will inspire you to visit The Banner County and discover why Clare is fast becoming one of Ireland’s most vibrant and diverse tourism destinations.
