What happens next S4B are working closely with Manchester City Council to get the final approval from the Government allowing S4B to start managing the neighbourhood from autumn 2013. You will start seeing S4B contractors getting ready to start works in the meantime, setting up new site compound and surveying the land. The site compound set up will take place in early July. The site compound will be located on the site of the old Medlock Primary school and will be securely fenced off with a perimeter fence. Access to the compound will be from Wadeson Road via Staverton Close. Residents in the immediate vicinity will be contacted shortly regarding management of resulting traffic flow. There will also be some activity to improve the current Housing Office on Bramwell Drive over the next few months to ensure it is more suited to the requirements of the work. If you are being rehoused due to demolition, Manchester City Council continues to manage this. Feedback from the Open Days in Brunswick… At the Open Days on the 17th and 19th February, S4B welcomed nearly 300 people through the doors of Medlock Primary School to showcase the regeneration plans for Brunswick. Visitors were invited to provide their feedback on the proposed plans via a feedback form, which have highlighted some very interesting, useful and positive results. This includes:

Andy Rymer, general manager of S4B, said: “The results have been really interesting and we feel that we can answer many of the issues raised in the questionnaire, especially regarding security, through our plans. We aim to provide better security measures throughout Brunswick, such as better lighting, reversing some homes to improve visibility of public areas, and getting rid of alleyways where possible, to open up the whole area.

“We are also planning to incorporate new children’s play areas and sports pitches and include allotments and a new orchard, which, according to our questionnaire, nearly 70% of people think is a good idea.”
