RETAIL DESIGN
Capsule & Gatsby
YEAR 2017 INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROGRAMS USED: Autocad SU Podium Sketchup 2018 Photoshop
CONCEPT The retail industry is slowly declining so the aim for this design is to entail customers in an experience back to the 1950’s when things were simpler. The concept is slit into two juxtaposing design ideas which stem from my personality. Gatsby ; a fabricated side of my personality with elements such as cages to demonstrate how trapped I feel with a heavier and more intense color scheme. Capsule ; a naive side of my personality with elements such as birds flying and a lighter, less restricting color scheme. The design intent is for one to embrace the constant split their personality or thoughts. 07
CONCEPTUALIZATION & SKETCHING
Transforming from the metal mannequin to ballerina as that is what I was forced into as a child. Throughout the design there are elements of ballerinas and cages to represent the feeling of suffocation. Being a person who prefers to express my emotions through sketches of mannequins and conceptualize through the use of materials for a space, these are rough sketches demonstrating my thought process for the two juxtaposed interior experiences as well as the contrasting color scheme and elements. 08

09
FLOORPLANS
The Gatsby side represents the stitled and self-concious side of my personality. Hence the use of such crisp colors such as emerald green, copper, bronze, polished grey concrete and crystal glass. The Capsule side represents the relaxed and serene side of my personality. Hence the use of such subdued colors such as velvet pink, denim blue, beige, polished grey concrete and off-white .

CORPORATE DESIGN
Huda Beauty
YEAR 2016 INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROGRAMS USED: Autocad Revit 2018 Photoshop Blender
CONCEPT The design intent for the Huda Beauty office is to create a space that blends fashion, art and creativity under one roof. Creativity is influenced by the unique product ideation that is derived from Huda Beauty’s statement style of products and will be created in the company’s identity and employee culture to emerge into a co-working space of innovational and experimental designers. Primary work settings such as the workstation area, the conference room and even the product ideation and private rooms provoke employees to imagine and invent constantly. Central social settings such as the work lounge and cafe promote a highly collaborative and innovatory environment.

WORKSTATION AREA+ OPEN MEETING LAYOUT The workstation area and open layout is a primary work setting with heavy traffic, hence the space has to be operative and organized with artisinal elements reflecting her products. The lip shaped conference tables are an area where employees have internal team meetings or discussions. The office plan is open and interactive as co-working is an integral part of her design and innovation process. The lip shapes and glitter skins evident in her style are reflected in the product ideation room.
PRODUCT IDEATION ROOM + PRIVATE ROOM 17
CONCEPTUALIZATION + PRODUCT IDEATION PALETTE STORAGE Used as a staple storage item in the conference room, ideated from the most recent palette launch; “NUDE. It can be used to store books, stationary and make-up brushes as an artisinal element. The design intent was for it to serve as a focal point as well as a constant reminder for visitors and employees.
MINI LIPSTICK STORAGE Used as a storage item above the storage desks in the conference room, a replication of her Liquid Matte mini-sets, and will be used in the office to store interactive and digital items such as mini projectors, cameras, digital notepads and magazines. The lipstick core inside is made using blender.
LIPSTICK CORK BOX Ideated from regular wine cork boxes, an innovative and interactive piece that encourages employees as well as visitors to recycle any form of lipstick for free, while gaining one Huda Beauty mini liquid matte free is a Huda Beauty product is recycled.

HOSPITALITY DESIGN
Hotel Salama
YEAR 2016 INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROGRAMS USED: Autocad SU Podium Sketchup 2018 Photoshop
CONCEPT Hotel “Salama meaning peace in both Arabic and English, aims to create a space where users can attain a state of peace and tranquility through beautifully merging interiors from contrasting sides. The co-existence of both elements in a single space makes it unique. The goal is to unite two constrasting sides and spaces into one through the use of merging materials, reflective spaces as well as an extension to my personality that I have existed with for 22 years. The Arabian influence through moroccan designs being my nurture as I grew up in Dubai. Where-as the Indian side is my nature, as this is engraved in my roots and upbriging by my family. 21
RECEPTION ELEVATIONS + IDEATIONS
This photoshoot highlights upon the collaboration between the Indian and Moroccan side that I wished to portray. Dressed in a traditional indian “ghagra, I wear a modern velvet blouse along with Indian bangles on my hand which compliment the Arabian head gear. The entrance of the lobby shows the elements such as the contrasting tesserae to create mosiac tiles representing each side. Each side also has the national animal of the following country; with an eagle on the left for United Arab Emirates and the peacock on the right for India. The left side holds Moroccan colors such as grey, beige, bronze, blue with a touch of gold. Where-as the right holds bright Indian pops of color.
The reception desk and waterfountain tie both the sides in order to maintain a balance, as well as the doorways out of which 2 are Indian and two are Moroccan. The detailing is also specific to the given sides.
22
RECEPTION ELEVATIONS + BEDROOM FLOORPLANS
A closer look into both the sides with more focus on the detailing such as the Moroccan and Indian style mirrors above the seating area. In addition to this, the lighting such as chandeliers and lanterns are specific to the side potrayed as well.
23
BEDROOM FLOORPLANS + MATERIALS
The bedroom is beautiful fusion between both styles with shisha complimenting herbal teas in the Moroccan seating area on the floor, while a Marrakech style headbord flaunts an Indian mirror. Accessories on the side-tables as well as lighting creates an alluring amalgamation.

Destination Cafe
Marriott International Food & Beverage Department Concept Design PROGRAMS USED: SketchUp 2018 SU Podium 2018 Indesign Photoshop
CONCEPT BRIEF Along with a team of 4 specialists and a graphic designer, we developed 2 different skins for a destination cafe. One as an independent speciality cafe which holds the true artisan style of the Naked cakes. The other was a Lobby cafe that had to meet the design requirements and standards of our hotels. The inspiration for the interior design for both juxtaposing concepts derives from the experience we wish the guests to embark upon. Sketchup 2D and 3D conceptualizations were created by me to give a clear idea for anyone viewing this book and design. Additionally, market research and key equipment guidelines are implemented for an efficient design.

CONCEPT BRIEF During the internship period at Marriott International as a Concept Designer and Operations Intern, I was asked to redesign a Japanese restaurant in an Izakya style with a challengingly low budget. Local artists to pain geisha art on walls fit well with the existing style of Le Meridien hotels in Egypt, specially in Cairo. Heading the design direction as well as the food and beverage departments to suit the design and provide customers with a soothing environment that is a beautiful blend of izakaya, music, fashion and art. 34

CONCEPT BRIEF In collaboration with the Vice President of F&B Concepts and the Senior Graphic Designer, I was asked to design a High-tea speciality venue. Guests can witness an art of culinary theatre in Lobby area as the craftsman embellishes the bite-sizedelicacies. They can then glide into a space representing a beautiful blend between jewelery, fashion and fine pastries. As harmounous tunes fill the air, white glove hostesses maneuver elegant carts with more than 50 different types of tea and wide range of pastries. 38

CONCEPT BRIEF During my internship, I was asked to refresh the design and ideology for a steakhouse restaurant in a unique manner. Hence, I developed a concept that derives from the true craftsmanship and artisanal skills centered around charcuterie. Design direction is focused on creating a comfortable yet thriving atmosphere fueled by culinary theatre and a butcher shop retail experience. The aim for the space was to unify the dining room with the open kitchen and butcher retail experience. Materials such as brass, wood and copper are merged with white metal and zinc in order to create a smooth transition.

CONCEPT BRIEF During my internship, I was asked to give a modern and refreshing take on a poolside restaurant and lounge. In collaboration with the Global Design department, we decided to focus on the indoor restaurant with a seafood bar inspired by Mediterranean coastal color palette and artisanal textures. In collaboration with the food and beverage heads, we decided to focus cuisine around 3 specialties; oven, grilled or fried complimented by creative mixology’s. The service, OS&E, branding, design direction are provided by me and approved by the team. 47

CONCEPT BRIEF During my internship, I was asked to single-handedly develop a rooftop concept with an existing pool and provide it with branding, OS&E and FF&E. The core focus of this concept were heritage and locally adapted drinks, local inspired bites and premium shisha. A space which speaks personality and freedom, service and OS&E promote a casual yet social experience through vibrant tableware, eclectic branding and technology integrated service. The design reflects the thriving atmosphere that yet allow guests to transition through different spaces dependent on whether they prefer a social or relaxing atmosphere. 52

Marriott International Food & Beverage Department Concept Design PROGRAMS USED: Illustrator Indesign Photoshop
CONCEPT BRIEF Towards the end of my internship, I was handed the responsibility renovate a restaurant lounge of two floors and several existing challenges. The indoor area held a poor seating arrangement and required a re-planning of spaces, the kitchen required to be redesigned and was not operational in order to cater to customers and the venue occurred several losses in the past due to its lack of focus for a concept or brand. The venue is refocused towards live cooking stations, music entertainment and a refresh of FF&E with a casual beach design including light woods, organic fabrics and artisanal textures.

YEAR 2016 INDIVIDUAL PROJECT PROGRAMS USED: AUTOCAD Photoshop Lightroom
CONCEPT BRIEF During the initial stages as a designer, I took on a project with two other designers of freelancing and designing a residence. The client brief required us to challenge our design thinking process as there were items that needed to be retained while redoing 60% of the elements in a sophisticated manner while on a tight budget. My work displays the thought process behind the design and character given to the rooms, while redoing the house within a set time frame provided to us by the clients. They were a family of 4 with parents and 2 children. 62
