Bernadette Twomey

"Immersing myself in a painting creates two things: a deeply intricate outcome on the canvas and a wonderful calming of my thoughts. As I fill the canvas with color and shapes, new species of flora and fauna emerge and interact. I paint in an almost trance-like state and stop overthinking as soon as I have a brush in my hand."

Australian artist Bernadette Twomey paints bold floral scenes based on her extensive travels throughout Australia and around the world. Playful and bright, Bernadette’s paintings are overflowing botanical arrangements full of high contrasts, delicate details, and expressive lines and colors.

In 2022, Bernadette showed her work at The Other Art Fair, Sydney, and in 2023, she will have a solo exhibition at Grasslands Art Gallery in Val Marie, Saskatchewan.
