Harry Potter Return to Hogwarts

According to Variety, the Harry Potter “Return to Hogwarts” special will reunite Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint for a special to stream on HBO Max. The original Hogwarts wizarding trio will talk about their adventures from two decades ago. The trio will join filmmaker Chris Columbus and other cast members from all eight Harry Potter films for the first time in a retrospective special to celebrate the anniversary of the franchise’s first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which premiered 20 years ago. Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will premiere on HBO Max on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2022.

Encounter

The sci-fi thriller Encounter, starring Riz Ahmed, is set to hit theaters on December 3 and will begin streaming on December 10. Lucian-River Chauhan, Octavia Spencer, Rory Cochrane, and Aditya Geddada also star in the film directed by Michael Pearce. In the film, a decorated Marine goes on a rescue mission to save his two young sons from a mysterious threat. As their journey takes them in increasingly dangerous directions, the boys will need to leave their childhoods behind. The story was written by Joe Barton and Michael Pearce.

Don’t Look Up

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep star in the dramatic thriller Don’t Look Up. The film tells the story of two low-level astronomers who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth. Adam McKay directs the film slated for release on December 10.

Veteran filmmaker / director Sanjay Leela Bhansali will release his upcoming film starring Alia Bhatt on February 18, 2022. The film titled Gangubai Kathiawadi, remembered as The Madam of Kamathipura in the pages of history, was pushed into prostitution at an early age, and later became an extremely influential pimp and local influential figure with numerous gangsters and politicians as her clients.

The Tender Bar

Veteran actor George Clooney takes the directing helm for The Tender Bar, which stars Ben Affleck, Tye Sheridan, Lily Rabe, and Christopher Lloyd. The story is about a boy growing up on Long Island who seeks out father figures among the patrons at his uncle’s bar. The drama is slated for release on December 17.

The film explores criminal enterprises and the smuggling of the rare red sandal trees in India. The fantasy romance is directed by Sean McNamara and the cast includes Stars: Pierce Brosnan, William Hurt, Benjamin Walker, and Kaya Scodelario. The movie is scheduled to open on January 21.

“Western musical theatre and Indian films are two long lost lovers separated in time,” says Indian film-maker Aditya Chopra, who is set to make his Broadway debut as a director with his worldwide blockbuster, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). Chopra’s debut directorial, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which released in 1995, is still running in theaters. After 26 years, Chopra is set to direct DDLJ again and it will mark his debut as a director on Broadway. He feels Broadway and Indian films are ‘two long lost lovers separated in time’ because of their intrinsic similarities as both celebrate heartwarming stories and human emotions through music and dance. Come Fall in Love - The DDLJ Musical is based on an original story by Chopra and will feature lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde), Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani will serve as composers.
