Matthews Alive Labor Day Festival: (September 3-6, 2021)

Matthews Alive Festival is a Labor Day weekend celebration dedicated to the support of local nonprofit organizations and will be held on September 3-6, 2021. The festival will be packed with family activities, food, arts, and entertainment. Following the festival, the net proceeds earned at Matthews Alive go back to several non-profit organizations, in order that they may provide services to enhance the quality of life in the Matthews area. NC Comedy Festival: Greensboro, NC (September 3-12, 2021)

The NC Comedy Festival is one of the largest comedy festivals in the country. The festival brings in a diverse group of improv, sketch, and stand-up comedians to help further the NC comedy scene in four different venues around Greensboro, NC. Queen City Comedy Experience: Charlotte (September 7-12, 2021)

Queen City Comedy Experience highlights several dozen local and national acts from a wide variety of genres. The festival returns to multiple venues in Uptown Charlotte September 7 –12, 2021. The Hornets Nest Region, AACA presents Charlotte AutoFair between September 9 & 11, 2021 on the grounds of Charlotte Motor Speedway. This event provides collector car Flea Market, Vendor spaces to buy and sell restoration parts and supplies for almost any vehicle ever produced — in addition to Car Corral vehicle spaces on the track oval for buying and selling collector vehicles of all descriptions. The collector car Flea Market includes everything automotive, including memorabilia, vintage signs, tires, wheels, automotive toys, restoration supplies, tools, and classic cars for sale. NC Folk Fest: Greensboro, NC (September 10-12, 2021)

Euphoria Festival: Greenville, SC (September 16-19, 2021)

Greenville, SC has established itself as an important part of the culinary world and is filled with experiences for all types of travelers. MerleFest: Wilkesboro, NC (September 16-19, 2021)

This year’s celebration, slated for September 16-19, 2021, will introduce many new artists as well as present diverse music veterans and legends. Many new acts will perform at Andy May’s Acoustic Kids Showcases as well. The festival weaves together artists, dancers, musicians, poets, storytellers, photographers, chefs and thought leaders. AASOA NC Presents Kirtidan Gandhvi: Raleigh (September 25, 2021)

Festival of India: Charlotte (POSTPONED September 25)

Get dazzled by rich Indian culture at the 26th Festival of India in Charlotte, tentatively scheduled to take place uptown on September 25, 2021. The event is organized by the India Assoc. of Charlotte, organization established to serve the Indian Community in the Charlotte area. Its mission is to share Indian culture with Carolinians and to foster better understanding of the cultural diversity of India with the local Indian Diaspora and the American community at large. This annual cultural festival showcases diversity of Indian food, art, dance, music and Bollywood entertainment. Also, yoga demo, get a henna tattoo, dance on the street to live pulsating music and so more. Admission is free for all. Parking options will be available near the facility. Free Citizenship Classes: (starting September 30, 2021)

Riverfest: Wilmington, NC (October 1-3, 2021)

The Riverfest runs through Downtown Wilmington on Water Street from the foot of Market Street to Cape Fear Community College. Taste of Charlotte: (October 1-3, 2021)

Taste of Charlotte is a 3-day festival from October 1-3, 2021 featuring over 100 samples from area restaurants along with Live Music and Entertainment, Interactive Children’s Activities, Cooking Demos, Street Performances, Unique Shopping and a large variety of local, regional and national partners interacting with festival goers, providing information, coupons and free stuff! Cary Diwali: (October 9, 2021)

HumSub presents “Vihaan – New Beginnings”, an in-person celebration of Cary Diwali 2021 on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Vihaan is Sanskrit for “Dawn” and symbolizes the beginning of a postpandemic world. This year, Cary Diwali will be celebrated in a scaled-down version showcasing performances by talented artists from the community in the afternoon, followed by a primetime performance concert by Nimesh, Ankita & Amar.
