Set in the near future in a colony of stateof-the-art humanoid robots. When its creator’s daughter goes missing, he hires private investigator David Carmichael, to bring her home. David teams up with Jane, a highly advanced and self-aware A.I., to track down the missing daughter. Moving through the dangerous iron jungle, they rapidly piece together the mystery, uncovering a crime that leads them to question the origins of Zone 414 and the true purpose behind the “City of Robots.” Director Andrew Baird guides the cast that includes Travis Fimmel, Guy Pearce, Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, Ned Dennehy. The film hits the screens on September 3.
The Card Counter
Redemption is the long game in veteran writer and director Paul Schrader’s The Card Counter. The tale in the film is presented with Schrader’s trademark cinematic intensity, the revenge thriller tells the story of an ex-military interrogator turned gambler who is haunted by the ghosts of his past. The film features performances from Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan and Willem Dafoe. It is slated to open on September 10.
Sunny Deol Signs for R. Balki Thriller
Writer and Director R Balki has announced his new film, a thriller starring Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in lead roles. He told Bollywood Hungma, “After months of waiting, for me, it is exciting to start shooting anything. And to make a film in a genre that I haven’t attempted before is even more exciting. I have had the idea for a long time but 1970s and 80s, Tammy Faye and her husband, Jim Bakker, rose from humble beginnings to create the world’s largest religious broadcasting network and theme park, and were revered for their message of love, acceptance, and prosperity. Tammy Faye was legendary for her indelible eyelashes, her idiosyncratic singing, and her eagerness to embrace people from all walks of life. However, it wasn’t long before financial improprieties, scheming rivals, and scandal toppled their carefully constructed empire. Portions of the film was filmed in Charlotte. Directed by Michael Showalter, the film features Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, and Vincent D’Onofrio. Look for it in theaters beginning September 17.

Bhoot Police (Ghost Police) is an upcoming Indian horror comedy film directed by Pavan Kirpalani and produced by Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri. The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Javed Jaffrey in the lead roles. The film is scheduled for release on September 17, 2021 on Disney+ Hotstar. The film was originally slated for theatrical release but will now be released in streaming format.
