Further to our last meeting on 19 January, please find attached the latest update on what is happening with our group: English Classes Emotional Intelligence in a Nutshell was conducted by Christina Dodd at the Shangri-la Hotel on 31 January How to Deal with Difficult Customers / Providing Real Customer Service conducted by Michael Bain is scheduled for 27 March. We need to finalise a hotel and the promotion script to issue on the website. Michael has already provided a summary to RJ. Other English Classes for the rest of 2012 to be finalised. We have further classes scheduled for May, July, September and November. The May event was verbally agreed to be conducted with Joe Barker-Bennett - topic to be advised. For pricing of the English classes, we propose that we agree on a minimum number to charge and then we charge a per delegate fee thereafter. Ian will propose this all future training companies.

Thai Classes Managing Teamwork by PCS in January was postponed due to lack of attendance. February 28 - Implementing Change by Tesco to be held at Bangkok Lotus Hotel. March 20 - Performance Management by HSBC. Venue to be announced. Script to be finalised with HSBC. The remainder of the Thai class schedule is as per the calendar prepared by Khun Sukhavichai. In addition to this, Standard Chartered Bank have also kindly agreed to sponsor two classes in addition to the proposed calendar as below. We will need to re-confirm the dates as they clash with already proposed classes. Professional Grooming : Date 24 Aug 2012 Facilitator : Varitthorn Sreesai How to Handle Negotiation with confidence : Date 7 September 2012 Facilitator : Prin Chaliervararese We need to find a coordinator on the MDG to handle the coordination of the Thai programme for 2012.

Panel Events We have none in the pipeline for Bangkok so far for 2012 and will need to brainstorm ideas at our next meeting. Joe planned to hold the event "How to retain good people" on the Eastern Seaboard in March on either 8 or 15, but no booking has yet been made with RJ.

Other Issues


 

The topic of the BCCT MDG collaberating with other Chambers has come up to help drive attendances. There has also been a proposal for premiums to be charged to non-members. We need to continue classes and do not want to be held back by having to postpone events when numbers are not high. BCCT MDG to discuss and agree at next meeting. The BCCT MDG should look to hold classes not only in Bangkok but consider doing classes also on the Eastern Seaboard / Phuket / Chaing Mai. BCCT MDG to discuss and agree at next meeting. There is also a proposal at BCCT Board level for the BCCT Management Development Group to combine together with the BCCT Human Resources Group to form one group. BCCT MDG to discuss and agree at next meeting.
