These support the tires much better and allow dramatic improvements in traction at a lower tire pressure without precision or rolling resistance suffering. With an inner width of 32mm, it is not only much wider that the average MTB rim, but it is also much stiffer and more stable despite having a weight that impresses even the most gram conscious rider. TECHNOLOGY Doubly or triply butted pipe ends guarantee for increased stiffness and stability with their flowing transfer in the connection area while also perfectly distributing forces and keeping weight as low as possible.

Electronics instead of mechanics â&#x20AC;&#x201C; this is offered by the Di2-switchgear by Shimano. The switching impulse is literally triggered by the push of a button and transmitted electrically. The result is much faster and more precise switching.

As compared to other materials, Carbon has a weight-specifically higher strength. At the same time, the carbon-fibre-reinforced high-end plastic can be adjusted perfectly to requirements and construction with the help of various fibre types and their alignment.

Sandwich construction and additional cooling fins reduce heat development at the Shimano ICE-Tech Freeza brake discs by up to 50 degrees. Increased brake performance and lower wear result.

Lighter than gold, robust as a diamond ring and comfortable as a custom-made leather shoe - these are just a few properties that make the refined material titanium the perfect material for many bicycle enthusiasts.

In Shimano rear derailleurs with Shadow-Plus technology, a friction clutch is activated with a switch to effectively reduce bearing of the chain when riding downhill and the risk of jumping off.

A steel frame of chrome molybdenum (Cromoly) is characterised by special stability and good dampening properties. It is therefore preferably used in the BMX and dirt jumping area.

Dirt and dust particularly like to collect in the bottom bracket area of MTBs. The Mud Worm perfectly protects the shift cable even under extreme conditions.

The length of the chainstays is optimised for every single frame size to ensure ideal traction and a beneficial centre of gravity for every rider. Taller riders also get more heel freedom.

Shifty is a small aluminium platelet that connects the derailleur to the frame. It permits the seat tube construction to grow wider towards the bottom bracket and to be slightly curved for higher stiffness in the drive area and increased riding comfort.

Pressing instead of screwing is the motto here: The resulting force locking fastens the bottom brackets in the housing. Higher stiffness in the drive area and a longer service life at lower weight are some of the advantages.

Highest riding stability, outstanding steering head stiffness and improved discharge of the forces into the frame are achieved by an extra-wide head tube construction that thickens towards the bottom.

TSR designates the option of retrofitting a telescopic seat post. Screwed-on guides permit a clean placement of the cable to the handlebar remote.

10- and 11-speed pinion packages permit an even more gradual gear adjustment and thus more efficient force transmission. They are therefore part of the standard particularly in the upper MTB and racing bike sectors.

The plug-in axle (20/15/12mm) stands out not only by its stiffness values. It shows its strengths particularly in precise removal and installation of running wheels with disc brakes.

Load adapted pivots means the elaborate and load-compatible twin placement of high-quality IGUS Iglidur plain bearings that are used for maximum service life and lowest maintenance effort at the pivoting points, particularly of All Mountain and Downhill models.

I Internally placed shifting and brake lines ensure not only a clean and elegant look, but placement through the frame also protects all the important cables effectively against outer influences.

Thanks to the Dyna-Sys technology, shifting becomes even more precise and smooth for the 3x10-speed and 3x11-speed drives by Shimanos SLX- and XT-group. A closer pull routing additionally reduces the risk of the chain jumping off.

The Premium hub gear of the Shimano Alfine series shines with best transmission and minimum maintenance effort. Completely encapsulated, the gear is secured perfectly against any outer effects and offers the perfect switching range as a 8- and 11-speed version.

TECHNOLOGY

The low maintenance effort is one of the greatest benefits of the belt drive. In contrast to the chain, the belt does not need to be lubricated or retensioned – a decisive benefit for hub gears.

What the underfloor protection is for racing cars, the skid plate is for the offroad E-Bikes by BULLS. The exclusive cover protects the Bosch drive reliably from impacts and damage off-road.

Depending on use and terrain, the suspension fork has to „swallow“ smaller or larger impacts and beats. The variance of the maximum spring path that is individually coordinated for best ground adhesion in all BULLS bikes is accordingly high.

Fully integrated into the down tube of the E-Stream models, the 650 watt hours rechargeable battery does its work just as unnoticeably as it is sustainable. The greatest ranges are achieved at complete merger with the elaborate frame design.

In addition to suspension of impacts, the dampeners at the chainstays also play a decisive role in terms of traction and kinematics. From 200 millimetres in the downhill sector to 85 millimetres in trekking, the value next to the respective icon characterises the length of the maximum spring path.

Perfectly integrated into the frame concept and yet always easy to remove for external charging – this is one of the benefits of the currently highest-performing rechargeable battery on the market on board of the E-Stream-Evo models.

At 148 millimetres, the hubs of the boost standard are wider than any conventional ones. Connected to the flattened spoke screen, they increase stiffness and stability of the wheels for even better handling.

Tubeless riding clearly increases breakdown resistance, while also reducing weight and rolling resistance. Additionally, there is some extra grip and comfort when riding at a low pressure.

The strengths of the Brose system include the possibility of the double drive. Thanks to an additional front chainwheel, up to 22 gears permit even more sporty E-Biking thanks to finer graduation.

Charging in the office, at home or in the hotel room – in addition to the elaborate integration in the bottom tube, the simple removal of the rechargeable battery is revolutionary. The battery can thus be charged comfortably away from the bike. 4/5

Faster, wider, more agile – Overview of the different wheel sizes 29 inch, 27.5 with or without a plus, classic size 26 to the wide tyres of a fat bike – no wonder if the mountain biker cannot see the forest for all the tyre and wheel sizes. Chaotic as the selection may seem at first glance, each size is made special by its individual properties. The top positions are taken by the 29 and 27.5 inch versions, which have set new standards in terms of roll-over behaviour and calm running in the last years. A flatter approach angle makes is easier and faster to drive over obstacles. Riding stability is increased. The size 29 is strong particularly in the marathon and cross-country areas, while the size 27.5 is used in the all-mountain and downhill sectors due to its benefits in stability and agility. TEAM BULLS From top of the world to serial maturity The heart of bicycle sports is beats at BULLS. Since 2007, Team BULLS has been writing its own story of success. After national titles and triumphs at Cape Epic, Transalp or Grand Raid Cristalp, there is barely a mountain bike race that Karl Platt, Urs Huber, Thomas Dietsch, Tim Böhme, Stefan Sahm and Simon Stiebjahn have not left their mark on yet. In addition to the hunt for success, the passion for racing and promotion of young talent, the team is a fixed part of product development. At BULLS innovations remain on the test bench until they have proven their suitability for practice in harsh racing use. Just like Team BULLS in the MTB area, the Gravity Team and Team TOUR provide insights that help us to continually optimise serial production.

TIMO SCHEIDER RACING DRIVER ON TWO WHEELS

DTM-Champion Timo Scheider rides for Team BULLS Double champion Timo Scheider is exercising on the bicycle to develop the necessary fitness for the season in the Deutsche TourenwagenMeisterschaft. For the ultimate stress test, the Audi pilot faced the challenge of the Cape Epic in South Africa as a guest rider of Team BULLS. After 8 days, 748 kilometres and 16,000 altitude metres, he ended the hardest stage race of the world in the saddle of the BULLS Black Adder, making a great 53rd place!

What made you as DTM-Champion look for the challenge on two wheels at Team BULLS? My trainer Martin Kiechle brought me into contact with bicycle sports very intensely again three years ago. BULLS caught my attention thanks to team rider Karl Platt, who is also active in motor sports. He convinced me of the quality of the bikes and the team very quickly. It is a great team with great boys with whom I was allowed to test my limits to the utmost. How does participation in an MTB-Marathon race compare with that in a DTM weekend? There is a surprising number of parallels between bicycle and motor racing. BULLS and Audi both plan a very far ahead, and everything works due to perfect team work. Although you are responsible for your own performance on the bike as in the car, everyone from mechanic to cook is involved in your individual performance. The team tactic as in a DTM weekend plays a decisive role here. All of

this has impressed me deeply in the Team BULLS.

Material is decisive in motor sports. How about in a race like the Cape Epic? Reaching the goal without defects is the key to a good racing result. I didn‘t have a single problem with my BULLS bike at the Cape Epic – not even a flat tyre! When looking at the competition, this was quite incredible. I would love this to be the same way at the DTM now and then. What do you personally take home from your stint in MTB competition sports? For me, bicycle sport mostly means fitness. Participating in the Cape Epic was literally „epic“ for me, though. I was able to get to know myself and my capacities to perform in wind and weather once again and also took home so much positive energy that this surely wasn‘t my last bicycle race of this kind. 10 / 11

This is not enough. An especially adjusted front centre with extended top tube and shorter stem improves control at increasingly demanding downhill rides that, even in the marathon range, acquire more and more elements that were previously reserved for the downhill area. The speed of adjustment to changes and new challenges has been a trademark of BULLS for years.

Team BULLS cannot afford any compromises in its fight against the global elite. It‘s hardly surprising that international top athletes such as Urs Huber, Karl Platt and Tim Böhme always want to be involved in the development of their material. Continuous feedback and even the smallest wishes for improvement are seamlessly integrated into serial production by the development department. Experience from the harshest marathon races in the world or the national sprint world cup always inspires our engineers to improve present concepts. One example is the revision of the Black Adder Team. Increasingly narrow, increasingly playful race tracks pose new challenges to the riders of Team BULLS in their fight for the top positions. For sustainable competitiveness, a changed frame geometry with shortened chainstays had to be developed to improve manoeuvrability and agility.

The consistent use of experience and know-how plays a key role here. Every BULLS bike has some very individual innovations from this rich treasure of experience. Very recently, German marathon champion Tim Böhme was one of the leading participants in the development of the brand-new Gravel bikes. This is how knowledge transfer works at BULLS!

Light, stiff, fast – and comfortable

Thanks to the continuous cooperation of our engineers with the Team BULLS, the expression „less is better“ acquires new importance in the completely revised frame of the Black Adder. Only weighing in at 950 grams, the carbon hard tail of Team BULLS turns pedalling energy into merciless thrust thanks to the reinforced drive area. A shortened saddle tube, delicate sitting struts and a flatter top tube additionally ensure top comfort values. 02

Safety brings speed

On the technically increasingly demanding marathon and cross-country routes, the Black Adder entices with control and agility. And extended top tube at a shorter wheelbase adds safety and agility especially on a downhill run. On rises, the steeper sitting angle ensures the proverbial BULLS climbing power. Perfection is offered by the slightly shortened head tube in the „racing trim“. 03

Integrated cable routing through the head tube

Thanks to the new cable routing through the head tube, the BULLS engineers have tidied up the cockpit of the Black Adder again thoroughly. All the common switching systems up to Shimanos Di2 and even control of a telescopic saddle post are thus made nearly invisible and at the same time protected from damage. Never mind the impeccable look of the refined racer.

Better Handling Thanks to Increased Lateral Stiffness

A successful model must be improved with great care. Thanks to a few modifications, the handling and freshness of the Copperhead could be increased once more. Elaborately multiply conified tubes form the basis particularly for increased lateral stiffness. Maintaining the already-low frame weight was a challenge that we can claim to have mastered. 02

More comfort for an undisturbed ride

The comfort factor of a frame is often underestimated in competition for the best equipment. The Copperhead has again been improved in decisive areas to dampen vibrations that can be exhausting particularly on long tours. The extremely delicate seat stays in combination with the top tube flattened towards the saddle tube permits deflection of the saddle. Small impacts or other interferences are dampened or entirely removed this way. 03

Elegance from the head tube to the drop-out

Performance is the only thing that often counts in sports. One thing is clear, though: the eye always rides along. To improve the looks of an already-elaborately designed frame even more, the tubes have been aligned with each other even better. The result is a flowing form from the head tube to the drop-out. To avoid interferences with the refined look, the pulls have been routed through the frame with a new system.

GRAVITY story Bike tuning is rocket science Jumps and drops on the downhill track or backflips in the Dirtjump – the Gravity sector has virtually gone through the ceiling in the last years. For a few years, BULLS has been part of this event with its own team as well. Daryl Brown, Jacques Bouvet, Christian „Texi“ Textor and Wyn Masters regularly show off their skills at the world cups. In addition to Threesixty and Tailwhip, the bike development also takes up a great part of their time. Particularly in the downhill area with its hard competition, material is playing an increasing role. It‘s not surprising that the boys want to get everything out of their working equipment – in the end, not only the pros but also the customers profit from this.

In the Wild Core 27.5, the team has a highly developed downhill bike that impresses experts particular by its high pivoting point and the revolutionary chainstay kinematics – let alone the prizes that the team has won on the Wild Core already. To make the vehicle settings such as characteristic curve, progression, etc., just perfect, a special data recording was needed. If you think „bike tuning is not rocket science“ now, you‘ll see that you‘re wrong. To record truly all the vital data, the Wild Core was covered in insanely expensive sensors that had to be aligned precisely to the millimetre. The precision was impressive every time. The telescopic path meter at the dampener alone supplied values that were precise to a tenth of a millimetre. The result convinced everyone in the end. The completely revised basic setup brought a new smile to „Texi“‘s face in particular at every world cup. Like the Wild Core, the brand-new Creed has also been developed in close cooperation with the team. In the development of the Slopestyle Fully Wild Ace, the feedback from Daryl Brown & Co. even ended in a patent. Once again, we can see that the boys are, of course, particularly interested in their own performance, while everyone down to the Gravity newbie will profit from the innovations in the end.

Thanks to the geometry developed with the BULLS Gravity Team, the Wild Core manages the split between speed and control. At high speeds and hard impacts, the Downhill-Racer can show its taker qualities. The revolutionary deflection concept ensures perfect dampening and best traction at the same time to ensure outstanding stability. 02

Even faster thanks to the „full throttle technology“

Thanks to the Virtual Speed Technology (VST), the speed loss when riding over obstacles in trail is effectively reduced. The unique kinematics of the Wild Core make the rear wheel initially deflect backwards in case of impact. This way, the rider will lose less thrust energy and can increase speed in decisive moments. 03

Chain run and drive performance redefined

The DCC-technology (Diverted Chain Course) was developed to perfectly use the advantages of a high pivoting point. A deflection pulley redefined the chain run to actively minimise interfering drive influences such as pedal feedback while also increasing riding sensitivity – it‘s not surprising that we have registered a patent for this technology.

ROAD story With the Alpine Hawk on the tracks of the pros Riding like the pros for once â&#x20AC;&#x201C; this dream has come true for twelve ambitious amateur athletes thanks to BULLS. Four women and eight men prevailed in the selection procedure among more than 600 applicants, and were rewarded with a membership in the Team TOUR. The team covers more than 40,000 kilometres in the hardest opento-all-races in Europe every year. The basis for this is preparation with professional performance diagnosis on Mallorca and very special material equipment. This year, the team once again clearly showed enthusiasm when receiving the BULLS racing bikes. The Alpine Hawk Team offers the members of Team TOUR a very special working device for the Dolomite round tour, Alp crossing & co.

TEAM TOUR POWERED BY BULLS

Light-weight, stiff and with a strong thrust, the Alpine Hawk exudes pure will to win. Additional safety at wetness and long downhill runs is added to the refined racer by a hydraulic disc brake. The arguments for use of the disc in professional racing sports, successfully tested at BULLS in harsh racing use for years, are so strong by now that the bicycle sports world association UCI 2016 is starting the corresponding tests for introduction. The full pros still need a little patience, while Team TOUR can already enjoy outstanding braking performance.

Less weight – more speed

At 6.9 kilograms, the Alpine Hawk is at the lower limit specified by the bicycle world association UCI for professional races. In spite of its extremely low weight, the frame entices with its improved stiffness particularly in the drive area. Thanks to a fibre-aligned Monocoque build, the pedalling force applied is even more effectively turned into thrust. In connection with the low weight, ambitious racing athletes thus have a competition machine that will enable them to put the proper pressure on in any situation. 02

Better comfort – less strength required

The delicate seat stays of the Alpine Hawk not only convey an impression of the refined and elaborate frame design, but at the same time increase riding comfort and thus performance. Thanks to the precisely aligned flexibility, they soften impacts and vibrations sustainably and thus ensure that the rider can invest strength and focus into his performance even more effectively. 03

Better steering stability – higher safety

The conic head tube with semi-integrated steering head bearings increases the steering stability and creates maximum safety when steering. At the same time, the shaft widening to the bottom in the Tapered Steerer deflects steering and brake forces as well as vibrations into the frame even better. The closer connection to the head tube also increases the fork‘s stiffness.

DRIVETRAIN Motor Based on a steering motor that has been produced a million times for the car industry, Brose has perfected a drive concept for high-quality E-Bikes over the years. Nearly soundless and vibration-free, the gear motor produced entirely in Germany entices with strength and smooth operation. Powerfully and harmoniously, it supplies always-perfect pedalling support. An elaborate and uncompromising frame design integrates the middle motor perfectly into the BULLS models, giving E-Stream Evo & Co. an optimised centre of gravity to boot.

Rechargeable Battery The merger of rechargeable battery and frame is among the highlights of the current BULLS E-Bike series. Perfectly integrated, the high-performance battery packs seem to disappear in the E-Stream or E-Stream-Evo models. With up to 650 Watt hours, the rechargeable IPUEvo batteries that can be charged both at the bike and externally are among the most enduring ones on the market. In the Duro, the special Hydroform-Fit design ensures best fitting of the battery pack into the down tube.

Display The immediate and comprehensive reaction BULLS shows to customer feedback is reflected in the latest CSI compact display. Attached to the handlebars and taking up a minimum of space, it provides well-structured information about all the important riding data and is at the same time the control unit for drive, pushing aid and light. The centre of the cockpit thus is free for navigation devices or smartphones that can be charged via the CSI display.

Perfect riding properties thanks to compact drive unit

Completely integrated into the lower tube, the Brose motor and rechargeable battery form one unit. This way, the E-Stream-Evo models have the riding properties of a classic mountain bike â&#x20AC;&#x201C; but with the extra portion of electrical energy. The drive unit is also positioned for the perfect centre of gravity and the required ground clearance off-road. Thanks to the integrated rechargeable battery, the frame also offers space for the installation of bottle holders. 02

Charging in the office, at home or in the hotel room â&#x20AC;&#x201C; in addition to the elaborate integration in the bottom tube, the simple removal of the rechargeable battery is revolutionary. The battery can thus be charged comfortably away from the bike. In spite of the compact installation, the rechargeable battery impresses with an increased stamina of 650 Watt hours thanks to the new 50-cell technology. 03

Double drive for even more athletic riding

In contrast to other E-Bike drives, the Brose motor permits use of two chain blades in front. This increases the athletic character of the E-Stream Evo even more. The larger bandwidth in gear selection permits finer graduation for even higher speeds and even more economic riding in steep terrain.

Powder-coated and additionally protected by the exclusive BULLS Skid Plate, they ensure impressive dynamics even in extremely steep sections. The installation of the middle motors with an optimised centre of gravity creates additional ground clearance for offroad use. Rechargeable battery Ideal for any form of athletic mobility, the Bosch rechargeable battery, available in three sizes, offers the perfect combination of power and ease. At only 2.6 kilograms, the 400-Watt hours battery ensures ranges of up to 100 kilometres and more, depending on riding habits and terrain. A shifting recommendation permits even more efficient use of the additional thrust. Apart from this, the integrated Battery Management System protects from overload and guarantees for a long lifetime of the rechargeable batteries. Display Well-structured and user-friendly, the tour display supplies all the important riding information from speed to remaining range to the chosen support stage.
