ALLALL-INCLUSIVE The rate you pay includes your room, your meals, yoga, and your airport transport. Any additional charges you incur (massage treatments, excursions, beverage charges, gift shop charges, internet fees, telephone, tips for the staff etc.) are summarized for you and you may pay by credit card (visa/MasterCard), cash, or Traveler’s Checks at the end of your trip. Many of the souvenir stores at the excursion areas, etc. take both credit cards and American Dollars. A general tip of $50/person per week is recommended for the staff to share. You may also tip separately for massages. THE RESORT All services and halls are within short walking distance of tents and rooms. Additional bathrooms and showers are located throughout the resort. There is a beautiful gift shop on site that sells a few basic sundries. The reception is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for guest services and staff is available 24 hours a day for emergencies. The resort also has a pool and a wonderful hot tub. It is surrounded by coffee fields and you are welcome to hike—please take a buddy. WEATHER The average daily temperature is around 75 degrees. You may need a light jacket at night. You are within the cloud forest region so it usually rains once a day for an hour or two. There are numerous umbrellas around the resort for your convenience. Given the altitude there are very few bugs so you should not need insect repellant at the resort (but possibly at some of the excursion areas). Sunscreen is recommended also. FOOD & WATER The water is safe for drinking and bottled water is available at the bar. Soft drinks, beer and wine are also available at an additional fee. The restaurant is casual buffet and the menu includes a variety of vegetarian fare as well as chicken and fish. Special dietary requests can be accommodated. MEAL TIMES & SCHEDULE: Breakfast 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Lunch 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Dinner 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. You will get your detailed schedule upon arrival. The YogaFox Vinyasa Retreat will include a program for YogaFox Teacher Training. Those not enrolled in the training may pick which sessions (all or some) to attend. It is your retreat so you are welcome to enjoy as many sessions as you wish or feel free to do a nap, a massage, or an excursion instead. The hours you attend do count toward the 200 RYT YogaFox Vinyasa Teacher Training. GETTING AROUND Airport pick-up and drop-off are included in the package price. The Pura Vida representative will be waiting for you at the terminal exit with a sign listing your name and "VILLAS PURA VIDA". The resort is around 40 minutes from San Jose Airport. Reception can help you book taxis and rental cars if needed for special excursions. The area around the resort is very safe for walking and weekly hiking tours are organized for our guests EVENING ACTIVITIES There are several evening activities each week (Salsa, Drumming, etc.) Our retreat will also include music in the evenings. CHILDREN & INFANTS Pura Vida does not provide infant and child care. Local sitting assistance is available for a very moderate cost; otherwise, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. CHECK IN / CHECK OUT Check in consists of filling out a simple form followed by a brief orientation. Check in time is 2:00 p.m. and check out time is 11:00 a.m. If your departing flight leaves early in the morning, please check out the day before and settle any costs you may have incurred during your stay. For payment of balance due and extras incurred, we accept cash, traveler's checks, Visa and MasterCard. EXCURSIONS & TOURS Our tour schedule will include a waterfall hike on Monday, an all day trip to rafting or the beach on Wednesday, and a trip to Poas Volcano on Friday. You may choose to do other excursions as well. The Pacific beach is around 2 hours from Pura Vida. White Water Rafting is around 3 or 4 hours. Arenal Volcano is also 3 to 4 hours and is an all-day excursion. SPA TREATMENTS Numerous spa treatments (Watsu, Hot Stones, Swedish, Ayurveda, Manicures, Facials) are available and range $80-$150.
