#HereWeDance - Sacramento’s Artistic Athletes Dear friends, Carinne and I are excited to announce an extraordinary season of dance destined to thrill, exhilarate, and move you. From timeless classics, to beloved fairy tales and new creations, our remarkable dancers are primed to deliver performances with passionate artistry. In October, we present the darkly erotic Dracula, a tale of seduction, mystery, and drama based on the Gothic novel by Bram Stoker. Also on the program are George Balanchine’s first American masterpiece Serenade and Trey McIntyre’s spiritually uplifting Second Before the Ground to African inspired music. Cinderella returns to the stage in February for the first time since 1997. Created in 1979 for the Boston Ballet, my version of this fairy tale classic was the first American Ballet ever to be performed in the People’s Republic of China where it was televised to over 30 million viewers. It has played to enthusiastic audiences in major cities throughout the world including; Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Milan, Rome, Aix-en-Provence, Nice, and many more. Septime Webre’s sassy and irreverent Fluctuating Hemlines, with Tigger Benford’s live percussion ensemble, anchors our bold and intrepid Modern Masters series at the beautiful state-of-the-art Three Stages at Folsom Lake College. Yet to be announced are more of the Nation’s most talked about choreographers to complete a program of innovative and startling imagination.
